Hassasin00
Hi all, I just bought GTA San Andreas during X-Mas for my PC and I'm having a little problem now that I have actually installed it. When in-game, I can't hear the sound of CJ running, the sound of people talking in cut-scenes or when we're riding in the car on missions and I can't hear the car either...All I can hear are the radio stations, the sound of my/someone else's gun firing and the sound of Peds yapping. Can someone please tell me what might be the problem? I installed it on my friend's GateWay laptop (which used Vista) and it worked PERFECTLY (besides for a little lag here and there). He had all the sounds etc. I compared both of our files and none of mine are missing...Can someone please help me? >.< I'm tired of reading subtitles . Oh, also I searched the forums for solutions etc. but none of them helped (including re-installing). If I missed a topic with this problem and their problem has been fixed, can someone please post a link to that post? Thank-you . Zera
First thing to try is to update your sound drivers. Also, post your system specs. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/310664-no-sound-fx/#findComment-1057476345 Share on other sites
gtamodder
Delete the gta_sa.set file (located In My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files). I had this a problem a few times on vista too, and deleting the .set file worked. Hassasin00
Delete the gta_sa.set file (located In My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files). I had this a problem a few times on vista too, and deleting the .set file worked. Ooo, it worked. . For a few seconds atleast :S. It just made a new file after awhile. Argh ... @Zera: Pentium 4 CPU 2.26GHz 512MB RAM & NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 w/AGP8X SP3 EDIT: I think you misunderstood my post gtamodder xD. I meant my friend has Vista but I'm using XP (should have mentioned that). Deleting the .set file did work for a little bit but I still couldn't hear my car's motor but I could hear Sweet/Ryder/Big Smoke during the mission cutscenes (they went mute again after awhile while driving in the car though). gtamodder
The game will create a new .set file if it doesn't exist. Try reinstalling your sound card drivers. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/310664-no-sound-fx/#findComment-1057478506 Share on other sites
