Radio tracks

Recommended Posts

You can simply add songs as you did earlier by importing them into the Station ID or DJ chatter tracks

pdescobar, in [WIP] San Andreas Audio Toolkit (SAAT), programs to modify streams/sfx topic.

So this means that I can add (for example) a 4:30 min. song to replace 0:20 min. radio DJ chatter without any problems ingame?

I've read the intro-mid-outro guide and realize that these files are related, so i should cut song into three pieces. But, is there any faster way to do this than with audio editors such as audacity or goldwave? It's kinda painful even with "save selection as" function. Any program that could read original intro, mid, outro lenghts and then automatically cut song into similar pieces (+replace originals +save)? and if there's not, as I expect, does custom intro and outro have to be same lenght as original i and o?

[update]

Hmm... I just tried to replace some audio files, but the game seems to crash more often. Filenames are correct, sound bitrates etc. are the same as original's. Even the audio lenght should be nearly same.

[end of update]

sorry if these thing are already explained but I totally missed (or didn't understand) 'em.

This would have been better suited for the actual SAAT topic wink.gif

I don't know of anything which automatically cuts songs up, but it may be possible for you to write a small program that would do that by using libvorbis. Custom intros and outros do not have to be exactly the same as the originals, but the closer they are, the more stable the results.

Regarding the crashes, which tracks did you modify and do you ever hear any of them in-game?

Edited radio stations were Playback FM (streams/aa) and K-JAH (streams/re). I replaced tracks 5-14, after "road to SF/LV is now open" announcements (1-4?). I also replaced first 2 or 3 song tracks (intros-mid-outros). And did this for both stations.

Another thing is, I have GTA Finland -mod, which replaces some radiostations (but not these two) and some commercial files as well. But I've tested this mod, before making my own tracks, and radios played fine and game didn't crash.

Import .INI files have correct values, too.

Some of my tracks played ingame, actually, and seemed like Playback FM was more stable than K-JAH (which I imported later). Now I've replaced both strems back to original, and no crashes (exept caused by modded vechiles). I'll try to import these files once more and see what happens (for example if SAAT jammed somehow in the first time).

One last thing. I edited these files with Goldwave 5.12 since Audacity crashes for some reason. Maybe I'll try to reinstall Audacity if it's more reliable...
