streetfire
I've seen moderators before WHO THINK THEY'RE THE SH!T by randomly taking hits at other people they don't like because they support muscle cars. Example: you. Give me a forum to rap on about what I like, what any other street machiner likes, and be done with it. I've already made it clear that if you're gonna do any complaining about how V8s suck, and how V8 lovers are blind, then DON'T DO IT HERE.

You don't understand what i want to tell you, nor what Kevin wants to tell you. As much as i don't like muscle cars and think that fun is not a straight line, this forum is a really open place opinion-wise. I didn't do remarks such as, never ever. I set the rules in this place long time ago and i excluded narrow mindedness. The people who do not want to take part in some discussion here don't take part in it... i think it's also a simple rule on all the message boards i have visited so far. As far as i'm concerned i'm not interested in your Toranas, Holdens, whatever, i have also very little knowledge about aussie muscle, let alone aussie cars. I am here to notify you that your attitude (notice: not the topic you're discussing) is not bearable any more. It's a warning i hope it's the last one. Signature soon. kevin2006rhs
Chill out...the only thing I have said was cool off with the annoying posting and repetitive spew of commonly known facts because you push them on others in an annoying manner. And pav only pointed out that you are annoying other members of the forum. I tried to warn you about it earlier trying to be nice, but your amazing people skills is getting in the way of understanding that. NVM Why go off and claim that he thinks hes "the sh*t". Dont pick fights with mods. Its like taking a knife to a gunfight.

Doing that at your own table is ok, but annoying other clients is something i can't stand anymore, and this is what you do. You decided to start flaming, why? Yeah and you cant seem to get the hint that it is the limited numbers produced LS6 version that you are talking about. Not every Chevelle produced is the LS6, just like not every Camaro isnt Yenko and every Corvette isnt a damn Z0 f*ckin 6. I love that you are a car fanatic and a muscle car lover, but damn, you annoy the hell out of some people. Surf around the net and broaden your spectrum of car history and get to know some sh*t before spouting off information like an ignorant little school girl with the latest gossip. You want to know some cool facts other than one thing about one car learn some sh*t...want a f*ckin example?: 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 454 had 500 ft-lb of torque. Two transmissions could handle that. One was the Muncie M22 "Rock Crusher" that is equally if not just as iconic as the LS6. It got its nickname from the idea that supposivly you could drop diamonds in the gearbox and it would crush them. just a quickie. Throw random sh*t out there and chang it up a bit, but your ignorant fan boy attitude is pissing me off, among other people. And you did too. Please tell me how I'm pushing commonly known facts on people... oh I get it now. What you mean is that whatever I say about drifting to m3powerede30 is a commonly known fact, therefore is correct. Torque turns tyres... commonly known fact?
kevin2006rhs
If its of any relevence to you, I have no idea who this M3Powered kid is. In all probability, he is either banned or has left this part of the forum due to ignorance or because he knew he was becoming an annoyance. But again, I will tell you I don't not like you. You just say so many things in such an annoying manner. Facts about me: - I am an automotive nut - I love all cars equally and in their own respects - I am a born and bread mechanic - Worked in an auto shop all through high school - Joined the army and became a Tank mechanic - I am hard to make angry - I am very bad at staying angry - I am a hopeless optimist. - The first car/motor I rebuilt was a 900hp 1969 Camaro RS w/ a Supercharged GM 427ci. : - I drive a 1993 Grand Prix and just sold my 2006 Titan. The Titan was my V8 monster. Now...out of total honesty...work on your people skills. Its not always what you say, its how you say it and how you interpret what other say to you. And don't take your warning, if Pav actually gave you one, too hard. I have been on this forum for damn near 4 years and I have a few myself. Its no big deal. Hell heres my log:

kevin2006rhs
It wasn't mine to color, it was my Boss's track car. Heres a better Camaro I got my hands real dirty with: - One-off/prototype suspension - 505hp ZZ502 - 6 Speed Amazing. About $75,000 dollars worth of car there. We built it from the ground up just for my Boss's Dad's Friend who is a rich SOB from Florida. This Camaro went against every stigma muscle cars have ever had against them. It took corners like nothing I have ever driven in my life. EDIT: Image was bigger than I thought EDIT 2: Quick story...The owner of the car came in one day to find me all alone working on the car. I was about 17 at the time and looked like a "car n00b" so to say. I had the drivers side exhaust manifold in a vice grip and I was beating away on the third exhaust down tube back with a ball pin hammer when he tapped me on the shoulder. I was beating with a decent amount of force but still trying to get a nice dent going to make it look semi-artistic. The reason for the banging was to get some clearance for the steering box, but he didn't want to hear any of it. It all started when I looked back after he peeked over my shoulder. his face went from "fake Florida tan" orange to white as a sheet. About 5 minutes into his rant about th ceramic coating inside of the tube my boss, Ed, decided to come out and stick up for me. The ceramic coating wasn't too big of a deal, but for some reason this old man would not let it go. I had to take 3 paid days off because he was going to be in town, and subsequently at the shop, for the next three days as the car was finished. It was nice to have some cash...But I missed my job. after that incident I think I was jinxed too. Not two days after being back in the shop, I busted myself in the eye, full force, with a Snap-On pry-bar. I was busting apart the rear drum breaks of a 2000's Cavalier that got stuck in some flood water. The resulting scar looks like a blue/purple pen mark because I was tattooed by the oil. It was bone deep...I could stick my pinky in the hole and dig around my forehead like a doctor preforming liposuction. Overall you need a Chill Pill. How old are you by the way? This is what i'm talking about: We both have more than half an idea about cars. Since when did you start thinking you have a giant rep with V8s? V8 > all. Not to mention that rotaries are gay. Vehicle chat is small and what I've done is come from the big boys place to show people a few things. No, not that... are you an exotic fanboy? LOL @ ignorant fan boy attitude; supporting aussie muscle cars... man that lotus sucked ass. Of course you don't give a flying fuk when the 2-door Holdens ended, because you're a narrow-minded Ford fan. Go home in your sh!tbox XD Falcon. Plenty of my mates are Ford fans but they aren't ignorant, narrow minded or one-eyed like you are. They appreciate any street machine like I do, whether it be Ford, Holden or Chrysler. We all point and laugh at pitiful little rice burners. It's all good Mate. Armchair motorsporter, lol. My dad used to own an LH Torana with a mild 307. I drove it along the dirt roads in the outback, and I soon found myself fixing bits here and there (307 + air filter + dirt = not good). So much for Wikipedia, dumbass. And Tristan is also quite faulty in this... Anyways... you got the point. Signature soon.

tuff_luv_capo
And I'd rather have a 15 year old Escort Cosworth with no power steering than any 5+ liter engine that puts down less than 250 horsepower, failing at the only aspect of racing it's so acclaimed to owning. But whatever floats your mustang. EDIT- Dammit I'm late, we're all getting along now. I am sorry for any muscle guys here. tristan
But I'd say the 5.0 Ford engine would have more potential for a increase in HP over the Escort Cosworth. tristan
The Seirra Cosworths were raced in Australia in the late 80's and early 90's, they totally whipped the domestic opposition. They were NOT just rally cars. Plenty of the XR6 Turbos can make 300 KWs plus on stock engine internals. Many people deciede to upgrade the Head, rods, turbo and intercooler for even more gains though. The Australian Ford and Holdens arnt about being the best, its about having a relatively cheap and most of all fast car that can take on many forgien super-cars (not ferrari or lambos but turbo japanesse cars and v8 sedans). streetfire
Only if you want cheap performance. A properly built 351 or 355 will blow away Ferraris without breaking a sweat. not ferrari or lambos but turbo japanesse cars and v8 sedans). since when were nissan silvias fast? kevin2006rhs
Only if you want cheap performance. A properly built 351 or 355 will blow away Ferraris without breaking a sweat. not ferrari or lambos but turbo japanesse cars and v8 sedans). since when were nissan silvias fast? Yeah...but a non tuned Ferrari will blow by any American muscle car in a corner. I guess that was the driving reason behind the De Tomaso line of cars; to actually put the American motor to a curve effectively. I am the biggest muscle car fan I know, but I am not afraid to admit that muscle cars were a strong exercise in straight line performance. Sure we can make a a SS Camaro or a Boss Mustang the best handling car on the road, but when it comes to straight off the showroom floor performance, even modern encarnations of muscle cars have a lot to strive for. Even the newest muscle cars, like the GT500 and the SRT-8 Challenger, struggle to break .90 lateral g in turning. We have had some genuine purpose built track cars for sale to the public if you think back to AAR and T/A line in the 70's (and thats just off the top of my head), but thats not saying much. About the closest thing American auto companies have come up with in the mainstream market were the Viper, Corvette, and GT. None of those really classify as "muscle cars" but they are what we got and damn I am proud of them. And lets not go into the Saleen S7 topic, because I can buy a couple, or more, Ferraris for the price of that domestic supercar or just about any of its ability. But saying that a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, ect. will be beaten by a "properly built 351 or 355" is going a little far. Even if you do that, what happens when you get to the end of the 1/4 mile stretch. I have built a few cars in my time and the 427ci, blown, 900hp Camaro RS was the fastest of them all. It had a properly built motor, it did go like stink, but it cornered like a train. I will put my money on a Ferrari F430 before I put my money on anything stock claimed a muscle car in a real race on a real track...lets say something like Laguna Seca. Anyways...I am lookin into getting a new play toy. I have been looking into this: 5.0L fun. BTW...Silvias have been fast for a while. Take this S12 Rally Car for example:
tristan
Ahhhh the late 80's/ early 90's Mustangs.... we stole your 302 Litre engine and at the end of its life cycle was stroked out to 347 Litres and produced 250 KWs from the factory. Are there any front end bolt ons for those mustangs? I must say, the front on that car looks horrible.
kevin2006rhs
Wow...347liters. Thats huge. I know the Caterpillar 3524B V24 engine used in the 797B Mine truck is only 117liters And those black light covers would go. Other than that, I love the late fox bodies. A guy down my road, who is also a friend of the family, has a race mustang that has a 460ci motor jammed into the engine compartment. Its naturally aspired and only makes about 750hp. Its a screamer.
