saltinespike
Do you think the quality of shops will improve by what side of town you are in? If you're in the middle of Queens (Dukes), will you see smaller stores that may be more susceptible to robbing? Will they be dirtier? Assumably yes is my answer. They attempted this in San Andreas, but did not quite nail it. What about items? Will a gun from an official gun shop have better quality than one you buy in the back of a van? Perhaps police will be faster (or slower) to respond in the ghetto. Quite boring, I know, but what's new? Just attempting to stir up thoughts somewhat new. Don't tear me to sh*t because of the topic please. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/309786-ghetto-quality/ Share on other sites

onelilfizzle
i am just guessing... because nobody can give you a definitive answer... but i think that you are correct in that quality of shops will range in different parts of the city, only because of the statement that "GTA 4 is going to be more realistic". but the quality of a wepon? i don't thinks so... thats taking it to far, maybe different shops will have different mods for a gun... but not much more than that. Kelao
Also, yes, I would assume that cheaper stores, in the more dangerous areas, could get robbed. I don't think it'd be that difficult for them to code it where, say 1/10 times you go into a corner store a guy runs in and demands money from the clerk. The seamless exiting/entering of buildings is confirmed, as well as a mention in a mag of peds' ability to do the same, so there shouldn't be a problem there. Maybe if we take out the criminal, the store clerk will thank us and give us a free pop from the pop machine (that'd be a dig at him being a tightwad). Also, since they confirmed that we can call the cops and a unit will promptly arrive on the scene, where ever we are at, maybe we can snitch on the robber and then sit back and watch a good old shoot out when a cops arrive? Makes perfect sense to me. However they have all of that, I'm sure it will be quite pleasing. Good topic saltinespike. Sorry about the long post. I'm intrigued by this ability to call the cops. It ties in nicely with the newly discovered police email adress for tips. Good citizen bonus, anyone? Pauloitis
If it looks like a dive in real life it will more than likely be represented in GTA but the weapons probably will be the same either way. Flexo Slim
No AmmuNation?! Nope. Only illegal arms dealers. I must say, I was a little angry when I learned that the beloved, AmmuNation, was being scraped. I know R* reasoning and all, but I thought they could've had it where AmmuNation sold a select few items - kinda like in the past, but more so. In my opinion, this would not disrupt the 'harder to get guns' thing (btw, I really like that they're doing that). If it were still there, I would say Ammunation should carry a few handguns (except for the Deagle & Magnum) a couple rifles (except for sniper rifles) and maybe a shotgun or two. If they would've limited it like that - and possibly have it where there isn't a store in the area of the map you start out in, that way you have to unlock it (unlocking islands is confirmed btw) - I think it could've worked. R.I.P. AmmuNation. But we have Lil' Jacob now, and other underground dealers (presumably for the larger items), so all is well! Seriously! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do you think the quality of shops will improve by what side of town you are in? Don't tear me to sh*t because of the topic please. I won't tear it to sh*t, not with a well written - especially compared with the usual - OP such as that. And even if it wasn't so well presented, I would just click the back button and/or report the post like a good little IVumer. But anyway...you're right about SA not really nailing that type of thing, though there was a huge big difference between Rodeo and Ganton obviously. I think it was a lack of attention to details more than anything. The question is, will they include everything from Bodegas (i.e. cheap corner stores) in Bohan - that have really cheaply priced items and boisterous store-clerks (2 dolla!)....to more Tiffany-esque places on 5th Avenue - with high-priced goods and exaggeratedly snobby store-clerks and peds alike? I certainly hope so. Now, for those who are quick to jump on people over any little thing, I do NOT think we should be able to buy all items from stores or even deal with store clerks at all, for that matter. It's about credibility, and you only need so much, but definitely not all the details of the shopping experience. Walking into a corner store and having the clerk ped say "I've got my eye on you!" or "You break, you buy!" would be awesome. What we'd be able to purchase would probably be just a can of soda pop and a quick game of Pogo the Monkey or Degenetron, just like the past. There really shouldn't be anything beyond that, it's good how it is - we just need the whole experience updated and nex-genified. Since it's confirmed we can buy suits (etc.) I'm expecting certain places in Manhattan Algonquin to feature very upscale shopping areas and neighborhoods. With the million dollar apartments, 100k+ rides, and snooty peds, there should be matching stores. I think they said we can buy suits from a place called Perseus, so maybe that will fit the bill. Again, the experience should be a lot more credible, and just flat-out fun. Also, yes, I would assume that cheaper stores, in the more dangerous areas, could get robbed. joker249
If there is no AmmuNation, what about indoor/outdoor shooting ranges? That's a good way to hone your marksman skills that would be missed.
