or am i the only one who isnt actually excited for GTAIV

like kind of...intriuged...maybe

but not actually excited?

i remeber when SA came out, i seriously....words could not describe how much i wanted that game

and to this day, i think its the only game i have ever craved before playing it...

as cool as GTA will (potentially) be...its just not got me going

is there a trend of this? or is it just how much ive outgrown video games?

Can someone please lock this? We're all excited about GTA IV, you're obviously not, no one agrees with you end of story (well, end of thread anyway...)

i think that he obviosly is exicited but just wants some attention. You wouldnt be on here wasting your time if you weren't.

I agree you must be a minority here who feels that way. I am looking forward to a lot of forthcoming releases this year but none have me anywhere near as hyped as Grand Theft Auto IV and this game is an exception because I hardly ever look for information on a single game as much as I can but I do with Grand Theft Auto IV.

April the 29th cannot come soon enough in my opinion I actually hate waiting.

No, your not the only one. I'm not excited about it right now because with all the hassle I'm having to deal with over the next few months, the wait till the end of April for GTAIV is going to go so damn slow for me... Basically the release just seems far off at the moment and thats killed the excitement for me.

Of course when it gets nearer I will start to excited again.

I'm not excited either. But thats maybe because I dont have a next gen console. I'm mostly excited about Devil May Cry 4 that will be released for PC smile.gif

Maybe I will get PS3 when MGS4 comes out. Its the only game I ever wanted to buy a next gen console for

I, myself, have one tiny concern.

Someone please correct me.

The X360 and PS3 versions of the game will be identical on release (29th April) agreed?!

But surely the PS3 will get a substandard version considering the following point.

The X360 release of GTA4 will be on a Dual layer disc (Max space 9 GB), so what the bloody hell fills the remaining 41 GB on the Blu-ray disc!?!!??!??!

I hope - fingers crossed - the PS3 version will have uncompressed video and audio (seriously - take a look at those X360 screen shots - HI-Def!?!?)

I have BOTH systems and (FANBOY I know) have pre-ordered a version for each console - if I want the extra 2 downloadable episodes I'm going to have to!!

With 'NO LOAD TIMES' I can not imagine them releasing it on more than one disc (for X360), maybe they'll specify that you need 20GB of free space to uncompress the data on first load?

Your thoughts!

I agree, too.

I mean, for god's sake can't they just release screenshots like once a day or something? The build up is very weak as of now. In SA we got to know about these cool badass features and actually got to know the mpa..

WHERE IS THE DAMNED WEBSITE?! The official website.. the map thingy? Like SA had..

Yea apparently your alone in the freezing wastes of low expectations. We on the other hand are in the warm glow of excitement, enjoying a carnival atmosphere in the run up to the games release. biggrin.gif

This is the only game i have ever joined a forum about and i intend to make the most of the hype confused.gif

how come people keep saying ur the only one when theres people agreeing with u that they lost excitement? illiteracy? but seriously i've lost some interest too as of now because i got other games to occupy my time. maybe when march rolls around or theres another meaningful update the excitement will be back to high levels.

Waiting for GTA IV is similar to being stranded in a desert with no water, having to walk ten miles to the nearest well. The journey through the barren wastelands of the desert is bound to be full of suffering; and the feeling thirst, combined with the unforgiving heat of the scorching sun, is sure to be an almost unbearable experience; but for those that make it, the water is going to seem all the more satisfying.

yup, you're the only one.

sh*t, exactly what I was thinking.

Well, you can think what you want, and a lot of people think exactly like you. As for myself, I am excited, but it's getting old now. I just want the game.

i was excited.. then it got delayed.. then i wasn't excited anymore. Another reason that i'm not that excited is i dont have a 360 or a ps3 so but by the time it comes out i will.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever been more excited for a game. I'm more worried that my expectations are too high rather than my not feeling the hype machine enough.

I saw San Andreas in the Orig. xbox bin for $19.99 and thought about it very hard. I already beat it though and it is still somewhat fresh in my memory. Would I still enjoy that experience?

What if the well is dry, and filled with lousy sand™, when we finally crawl over to it?!

Then we die, allegorically speaking. And if GTA IV does disappoint (but there is almost no way this can occur), then for many of us, myself included, it would surely feel like a death of a sort. suicidal.gif

Johnny Burbank

I can relate with what the OP is saying. I remember being stoked before VC and SA, and the games exceeded my high expectations. They remain among my two favorite games -- make that two favorite items of entertainment period including movies -- of all time.

The thing that has me somewhat meh on GTA4 is the location. I just can't get up for a NYC based game. I never could, and never was too keen on NYC movies either except The Warriors.

I hope they can make it fun though. One key to making it fun wil be being able to go up in tall buildings, Statue of Happiness, etc. and get off the streets.

Seriously though, I do hate the lack of info, but I can quickly resolve that. The waiting is the only real problem for me.

The delay did kill much of my hype, to the point where if this game turns out to be absolute sh*t, then I'll be less disappointed, in a way. But if it's great (and I use that word in the grandest sense), then I'll be that much more pleasantly surprised.

But there should be more infos in the very near future - like the website launch or those hands-on previews they spoke of. So that's good. icon14.gif

I agree that even though the previews have been great they still leave me wanting more of the game.

I thought the official website may be expanding soon like with the previous games. Some small bits of information interactive map etc.

At least in around 3 or 4 weeks or so we will be hearing hands on impressions of the game from IGN, Gamespot, Kikizo, Games Radar etc.

Also although many say "no gameplay footage!" I for one would really like to see some short clips of in game footage why not It will not reveal that much. Although Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto IV is smaller than San Andreas the map will still be huge, with there being no desert and countryside it probably will feel like the size of San Andreas.

Lmfao people you need to get your head around the idea that there is more space than 9GB available for an Xbox 360 game.

For those of you that know this then thats cool
