Anyone wanna hazard a guess?

 

I have a couple in mind...

 

Considering that R* have said that it'll be up to 16 players, makes me think that there'll be some sort of deathmatch type mode.

 

Now imagine this...

 

Instead of maps designed specifically for a multiplayer game, you get a chunk of Liberty city. So rather than the entire map, you're given, say... i don't know... 1/4 of Bohan (you get the idea, just a small bit).

 

Okay, so it's 8 players a side. 2 seperate gangs. Maybe one team is the mafia, the other triads... something like that, anyway, there could be many variations... Team deathmatch, territories, capture the ho, whatever, so basically the idea is to beat the opposition.

 

Or you could just have 16 players all roaming around the entire city (is that even technically possible? if anyone knows much about developing games..?)

 

Or just Co-Op, i don't know if many of you have played Crackdown? But that allows 2 people to roam the entire city and do missions.

 

Anyway, that's what i think the multiplayer aspect will be like.

Hopefully, there will be online-co-op and offline co-op. Well here are some ideas I have (not including the typical dm, tdm, ctf, kingoth);

 

_Rob the Bank_

Characters: Police vs Characters

Objective: For the characters to steal a money bag from the bank and put it in the safe house. Or the police to keep the money bag in the bank.

Player Capacity (maximum): 16 v 16

Spawn: On or Off

Description: The police's base is the bank and the characters' is a safe house

 

_King Pin_

Characters: Implemented Gang vs Implemented Gang or 1 vs all

Objective: A person is selected to be the head of a gang/mafia, one on a team). This person must live and kill other people. If it is 1vall then if somebody kills the targeted person, then that person is now the target

Spawn: On only

Description: enough given already

 

thats all i can think of right now.

Map Possibilities:

Ellis Island (forgot gtaIV name)

A couple blocks of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Queens (forgot gta4 name)

Times Square

Marsh Lands (of nj?)

Brooklyn bridge (have the whole bridge and then the land near the exit/entrance of the bridge; so u would have to swim across or take the bridge)

Inside a skyscraper/office building (maybe like 3 stories high)

Dude you just gave me a kickass idea!

 

Cops n Robbers!

 

8 players = Cops

8 players = Robbers

 

Cops are in a sort of 'vigilante mode' they have to track down and stop the robbers (maybe there's a green blip on the radar or something).

 

The entire map is available, or maybe (if that's too big) half or so.

 

Object of the game

 

Robbers have to cause as much chaos as possible before getting busted/wasted.

 

There could be a points scheme, for example: 100 points for totaling a car, 10 points for killing a ped, 500 points for killing a cop.

 

After all the criminals have been caught/killed, the teams would swap for round two.

 

Team with most points after 4 rounds would win.

How about a game mode something like this?

 

Assassin

 

1 player is the target, the other must kill him. You get points for killing the target, when you kill the target you become targetted.

Target starts with a handgun, assassins with knives. Weapons and cars are scattered across the city.

 

Would be pretty funny having to chase that poor guy all around the city. smile.gif

I'm thinking a small area of Liberty City streets with roadblocks and you are in a deathmatch to kill other people.

LET ME MAKE ONE THING CLEAR.........I WANT NOTHING LIKE ABOVE. JUST NO GOOD. THEY SHOULD ENABLE YOU TO INVITE A FRIEND INTO THE ' WHOLE ' GRAND THEFT AUTO 4 MAP. THEY COULD LIMIT IT TO 2 PEOPLE OR MAYBE JUST MAYBE BRING IT UP TO SOMETHING LIKE 16. STILL I DO DOUBT THAT. ( Sorry for the caps, just wanted to get that point across )

 

The thing is Crackdown did that. You could explore the whole city. ( maybe that was a test, to see if it could be done with GTA 4 ) Would be real good.

 

I would just like to point out something ! Crackdown had up to date advertisement boards in the game. I wonder it they will implement that also......Both would be PERFECT ..... icon14.gif

"PUB CRAWL"

 

Now that we know you can get drunk, there could be a checkpoint race where you have a drink in a number of bars around the city. Thing is that each one you go to you get more and more drun =k therefore makingit harder to drive.

 

On a serious note, if they simply go for deathmatch etc I will be dissapointed as this is old school. We need 2 player co-op for the whole story made over xbox live or equivelant and then some new variations of traditional games like TDM of CTF like Saints row did. Not saying that was great, but PIMP missions and drug dealing and perhaps a smuggling or boat running game. I don't know many multi player boat missions. Not all shooting is my point!!!

Thats funny, but I was thinking of someting a little different.

 

"Bar Hopping"

 

You start in a bar, and have so much time to get to a certin point of intoxication. Then, once you reach the level, you have to go find a vehicle and [try to] drive to the next checkpoint (bar). Once you get the the bar, then you have to get you intoxicaton level up to what it was at when you left the last bar. This just goes on and on untill you can't get to the next checkpoint in time, or if you get pulled over by the cops. So whoever is the one who lasts the longest wins.

I love the pub crawl idea tbh.

 

While I woulden't be against deathmatch et all being included to have it limited to that would be EXTREMELY dissapointing.

 

Personally I'd love to see something like this.

 

"Gold Run"

 

One team starts on a part of the map. They have to get the Gold to another point on the map. The other side has to get the gold off them.

 

Every player can always see the current location of the Gold on their map and the destination its got to get to. By analyzing the way the gold is moving and what roads the attacking team is taking the defending team could wait in advance and set up road blocks, sniper positions etc.

 

The Attacking team will have some choices to make, should they all go in seperate cars and just try to bully their way through in convoy? Or Maybe 2 people per car, one to drive one to fire out the window. Or maybe even two cars and everyone else on foot, clearing mines and snipers. Should they take the main roads, with a lot of room to manouver but where the opposition will almost certainly have some defense? Or weave through the minor roads? Its slower but the opposition would have a harder time predicting their route. They could even all be in cars but drive very slowly to try to fool the opposition that they are AI cars.

 

The defending team will have choices to make too. They could put people on roofs that have a good view of multiple possible roads the attacking team could take, but if they miss their shots they can't really give chase. Defend the main roads or the minor ones? Put everyone on foot so they can bring their firepower to bear or just have everyone in cars and try to ram the gold off the road?

 

I'd like to see a few special abilities too. The attacking team could perhaps use an ability once a round called Decoy. This causes ANOTHER Gold Marker to appear to the defending team located on a random member of your team, forcing them to split their resources.

 

The defending team could perhaps get one landmine each when they spawn. They could use these to trap alleys which the attacking team could use, or all corroborate to lay a minefield across the freeway.

 

Every member of the defending team can spawn on multiple points all over the map, this means that if you take up a sniper position and they zoom past on another route you can just spawn infront of the action and not have to climb all the way down and chase to keep up.

 

The game could work one of three ways. Either the attacking team has a timelimit to get the gold to the safe zone, after it ends the teams swap round.

 

OR The attacking team has infinite time to get to the endzone and then the other team tries to beat that time.

 

OR When the opposing team kills the goldcarrier they can go down and secure the gold then THEY attack immediatly.

 

Good idea?

First I would like something where there are diffrent servers and eacher server holds about 500 ppl.

 

And when you first start MultipLayer you custumize your character then you choose a class. And you get to rank up in your class

 

Ex: Cop -> Sgt -> S.W.A.T -> FBI

 

Messanger -> Drug dealer -> Gunmen -> Capo -> GangLord

 

that would be cool as multiplayer.

i would be happy if it was like halo3, but with a better ranking system, and a "gang" maker like in saints row
