slowed down gameplay

ok i have a advent with vista premium,

 

intel celeron m cpu [email protected] Ghz

894 mb ram

32 bit

100geg memory with 25 geg free.

 

ati radeon graphics xpress 200m series

 

I have SA version one, had it for a while now, used to work fine, sometimes it is ok, now it is reallly slow, and is beginning to bug me soo much, not only do i have to sometimes predict where i will turn or shoot, but is making the game much harder and less enjoyable to play, i do use cheats, most of which do not last after saves, it is similar to the adrenaline cheats which i think is pointless, CJ walks slow , i use mostly the spawn cheats and everyoneisrich so i can get nice cars or spawn one if i cant be bothered, anyways, is there a reason why it is slow? my laptop is fairly fast, last week it was fine, and i changed the display to 128 * 800 and it looked even better, i have draw distance set to max, frame limiter on, i tried fidiling with them makes no difference,

 

im at the time just after sweet comes out of prison and i cant go round kiling people with it being so slow, any ideas?

I have the same graphic card and the lag problem too. Here's what I do:

Change display settings to the lowest. Drop down draw distance to zero. Turn OFF the frame limiter and the anti-aliasing. Close all running programs before starting the game.

I would also suggest to change your resolution to either 640x480 or 800x600 whichever suits you better, but not more than that.

 

You still might experience some lag (due to the weak graphic card), but I think you can live with it.

You can download this little thing, it reduces 45% of the lag. I had a lot and it got rid of most.

Thanks, i turned down draw distance and resolution seems ok will have to see in a mission , i am also defraging the harddrive, thanks guys, will get bk to you for sure, seem ok tho.
