GTA-NIKO Posted January 26, 2008 Share Posted January 26, 2008 so i was surfing around when i found this neat little site for the ps3 linkey link so having a look and i see gta iv and apparently the ps3 is responsible for the delay (dont know if this is old news) - PLAYSTATION 3 The Cause of Grand Theft Auto IV Delay Well, Grand Theft Auto IV Is finally hitting April 29, 2008. Of course, it was supposed to be released a few months back. Sadly, the PLAYSTATION 3 was the cause of the title's delay. Porting the code to the PLAYSTATION 3 is what held up development. "It's really no surprise to anybody that the PS3 was definitely a contributing factor to [the delay]," Rockstar's Jeronimo Barrera tells MTV. Well, now that they have it in order, and bother versions are identical, you can expect to be [virtually] killing innocent pedestrians (who knows, maybe Thompson is reading) in late April. chrisisking Posted January 26, 2008 Share Posted January 26, 2008 God not another, you just couldn't help yourself could ya The delay of GTAIV was down to BOTH the 360 and the PS3 cos R* are new to both systems really. The fact that theres no HDD guarentee and no having Blu-Ray (memory) was the 360's probs and not dealing with the technical and plainly annoying beast that is the PS3 before affected the PS3 development. Who develops the game? Rockstar North. Who "ports" the code? Rockstar North. If they can't port code in time, then it's their fault. If they mislead the world by telling them that the game will be out in October 2007, only to delay it because of their own incompetence (and impotence), then it is Rockstar North's fault.
