i just hope its not stupid achievements that a noob could get on their first try. i dont want to see achievements like kill 1000 civilians or get a 6 star wanted level. i want it to be tough. with the downloadable content i think there will be more achievement points available. like what they did with gears of war

Well it depends because I don't want to kill a million peds and get 5 damn points. I like trying to get achievements because they usually force you to do things you didn't think you could do, or never though of. I want achievements that make me feel good when I'm done. 100% has to be an achievement though.

It should be 125 points per episode.

For the main game, I'd like to see things like;

10 (5), 20 (5), 30 (5)... 80 (5), 90, (5) 100 (15) - 60g for all packages.

Hit a pedestrian Xft down the road

100% Obviously.

Accumulate 24 hours of play.

I'd also like to see some old phrases, as achievement names, from GTA and GTA2's main game/arcade mode.

Cop Killa - Kill 1000 men in blue.

You Shot Your Load - Fire 5000 rounds of ammunition.

Kill Frenzy - Kill 30 civilians whilst under the influence.

Grand Theft Auto - Commandeer 500 vehicles.

Medical Emergency - Kill 50 paramedics.

Wasted - Die by being ejected through your windscreen.

like those exept the last one and the one that you get for stealing 500 cars. do you have any idea how many cars i steal in an hour of playing? that number would have to be raised to maybe 5000.

500 is a damn lot though, it would even take a few hours if you solely set out to carjack everyone.

how many hours have you played San Andreas? i dont want all the achievements within a month, i want them to be prolonged throughout the game. you might be right that it takes a while to jack 500 cars but i still think that it should be more.

5000 is outrageous though, I don't want to be forced to hop from car to car just to get the damn achievement. I think they should be hard but if they are too hard they just don't make sense.

I don't want any GoW "Seriously..." achievements appearing on any game ever. My 360blog thing says I've played GoW for 147 days, I barely got to 9000 kills.

Kill 20 police officers while having 6 stars.

Kill all officers in a police station.

Burn down a fire station.

20000 GP - Launch a PS3 copy of GTA IV on a xbox 360.

LOL!!!

I think Achievements like Last 'Xminutes with 6 star wanted level would be in there.

Unfortunate but likely other achievements like complete *character's* sequence of missions perhaps??

But what is this you get actually? 125g  and stuff... is it "money"? so you can buy stuff from X-box live market?

The 125G and 50G that people are talking about is Gamerscore.... On the xbox360 when you unlock an achievement you get points for doing that certain thing and all your points add up to give you a total gamerscore... the score does nothing but people then can brag because they have completed something or got a really high score.

Ps3 are thinking of bringing in a "trophy cabinet" which you have in your virtual home which when you have people round on the ps3 system (virtually I mean not your real friends) they can walk around your "House" and see all the game you have played and done things on to unlock the trophys... BUT that isn't expected to be released till the spring this year. so GTA IV might have it in and if its not been released by the time GTA comes out, GTA might have it in there ready to be unlocked.

oh ok.. thank's for clearing that up... colgate.gif

I knew about the trophy thing and PS3 home, (wich i hope comes out soon, seems fun) but i didn't know it was the same thing as this g's...

i dont really care about it...

i just dunno why the topic was soley based on the xbox... did i miss something??

gee... sometimes i wonder about these ppl... now a got some loser sending me death threats about my comments...

i think GTA should have mentality restrictions on ppl like that...

1. Don't go onto Xbox 360 related topics.

2. Stop being a fanboy.

3. I think that these forums should have restrictions on idiots.

dozingoff.gif

Anyway, I don't really want to see multiplayer achievements, and since Rockstar really love their single player stuff, I don't think there will be any/many.

But I hope to see some casual achievements which can be obtained easily, then leading up to the tougher ones with bigger point rewards (and, of course, more play time).

EDIT: Nutoi, grow some balls.

Seeing as 100% completion of previous GTAs has always been quite tough compared at least to other games with a 100% completion possibility I reckon the gamerpoints awarded should be quite a lot. Afterall totally finishing GTA is a major achievement. Maybe something around 150 or 200 GPs...

wut ya mean 150 or 200, u want more points than that right.

Yea but u could always reference Achieve360points.com and imagine what it would be like if u had a 360.

GTA_Godfather

I hope they give some kind of reward for reaching certain levels/milestones with your criminal rating. We've never received jack from this, except for the title.

Visit every in game website. Sure it might be a bit tedious, but in the end I feel it'd be pretty similar to hidden packages, as you'd have to run around searching everywhere for those links.
