What do you guys think? Halo 3 holds the record for the highest grossing opening day in entertainment history, bringing in US$170 million in its first 24 hours, going on to gross US$300 million in its first week. IV won't get the same push because it's a GTA and has a negative rap attached to it. For that fact, it won't beat Halo 3's opening day record. Halo 2 sold faster than San Andreas back in 2004 and since then Halo has gained popularity while GTA has lost it. Also, Halo 3 had a HUGE advertising campaign. It was everywhere, the game was even sold in 7/11's. GTA is never advertised to that extreme. We may all be hardcore fans of the game, but you have to realize that GTA is not as popular as it used to be and the fanbase is not as big as Halo's. I just realized my mistake, I meant to say dollars, not units. My fault, thanks for catching that. And ya, I think the smarter of us realize that IV will not outsell Halo 3 because it will be not be advertised as lamely as Halo was. Halo 3, like I already said, completely whored it's outself out. They had their own soda/energy soft drink for God's sake. Countless commercials, magazine backup, and the fanbase that is the Halo nation. GTA however seems to be losing fans, but I really hope IV breaths major, major life into the series. I hope this game really is as impressive as they've been proclaiming it is, that's all I can say.
