[GTAZ]MMD
Triple post Can someone please help me? :S
Supra4
No need to triple post, you could simply use the edit button. Generally it also takes more than an hour before you'll get any response. Could take days even. It's not like all members are looking for new posts around the clock. As for your problem, I had several issues with modding tools not working correctly on Vista. Didn't get to try the Map Editor, as I quickly came to the conclusion that Vista is no good if you want to mod. So I re-installed XP.
derty
It's not like all members are looking for new posts around the clock. I am And what swayed me from posting is 2 things: 1- try to refrain from posting in a topic you've reported and 2 - I wasn't first-hand sure about vista modding. mED is bad *these days* simply because it's not been maintained. Great though, it was becoming. The video above puts it all In a nutshell, although it is a generalized nutshell. Also, notice please that he is a liar, because he recieves VISTA mail sound on a machine that he is claiming to be returned to xp :
Supra4
Also, notice please that he is a liar, because he recieves VISTA mail sound ona machine that he is claiming to be returned to xp :0 You're talking about the ding at 49:20? To his defence, I saved all Vista sounds on my external HDD before going back to XP because I liked the Vista sounds better. So I have Vista sounds on my XP as well. Also, around the 21:20 mark he mentions that he is using a Tri-boot configuration. XP, Vista32 and Vista64. At 39:30 he mentions that he currently can't scan or fax due to the lack of hardware drivers for Vista. Therefor I assume he is running in Vista32 configuration. He also mentions completely returning to XP ''later tonight'' and preparing stuff for that change. So my conclusion is that he is running on Vista32 indeed, but copying files and stuff to prepare for a full return to XP. But let's not turn this into another XP vs Vista argument. For a modder, it's not a useable platform due to compatibility issues. After all we're using very specific software that was written by enthusiasts who are all using XP. For a secondary pc, I'd just install Vista straight away. But this one is being (ab)used for things that Microsoft Vista just doesn't support. derty
true! I was so wrong! But that was definitely the relevant point here. Vista is good, but you won't do any meaningful modding with it.
Supra4
Indeed. If I weren't a modder, I'd be a Vista user now, and probably a happy one at that as well.
gtamodder
The same happens to me on vista. I even get errors with almost every tool and they don't work correct. You could try right clicking the exe to run mED, Click properties, click the compatibilty tab and choose XP. Now click apply then ok.
