mista morino
So, apparently we'll see again the npc's having accidents ( like in SA ). My question is do you think npcs driving a car will try to avoid collisions or running down peds ? And, wil wee see Npcs trying to get up after a crash and limping ? or does it mean that the moment that they go through the windshield it's game over for them ? Also , do you think we will see blood from injured Npcs involved in an accident ? Your thoughts...
Dicky_M
It certainly would make it more realistic if they limped or were bleeding after an accident but Im not sure if i can see it happening in the game. Their reactions may be more on the side of anger and frustration at a crash for example, it is possible you may see niko getting into a few punch up's because of his reckless sunday driving lol ? good ideas mate
roofy85
i dont think anyone can survive going through a windshield and i hate to sound like a realism guy here but euphoria seems to have replicated a human body very well
OptimumPx
As long as peds are better drivers then they were in SA. If you stood still next to the highway in SA you saw a pileup. Every. Single. Time.

roofy85
am i the only one who thinks the windsheild thing reminds of saints row? that was the first thing i thought of when i heard it. the ragdol physics in that game were great for a sandbox style game
BigBoyTraks
am i the only one who thinks the windsheild thing reminds of saints row? Yeah but remember what the article said about Euphoria in GTA IV "fly through the windshield and into the air, arms in a controlled flail. The impact is sickening and realistic; bodies don't just ragdoll in GTA IV, they roll end over end or side-on, before coming to a natural pause In Saints row their arms didn't flail at all they just look like bean bags flying through the windshield. But then again look at all the stuff Saints Row ripped off GTA which is just about 80% of the game.
Bates_GTA
That would be brilliant. Even for the Ped's to be knocked out and instead of the Ambulances help them on the street maybe they could pick them up and walk them to the Ambulance or if they are really badly injured they could lift them onto a Stretcher and put them in the Ambulance. Agent Dark Booty
i dont think anyone can survive going through a windshield and i hate to sound like a realism guy here but euphoria seems to have replicated a human body very well They can survive but they wont be getting up and limping away by no means! Euphoria does an excellent job handling the reactions and movements, but it still lies in the programmers hands to define heath and damage. I think it could be quite amusing to see someone fly through a windshield, get back up, brush themselves off and hop back into the car like nothing happened. Plus being the speed demon I am, I would get rather annoyed at Niko dying every time I crashed.

I hope this doesnt happen every time..and maybe airbags can be added to the car in a shop so you can protect yourself

dragonrock
I hope its more relaistic this time. I've seen undreds of peds mowed down by other people and not one stopped in SA.
mista morino
I know this might sounds stupid, but what about an option to put on your seatbelt when you enter a car ? It could lead to funny situations. Imagine that Niko gets held hostage in his car while he'S driving, and that he crashes the car on purpose since the guy next to him isn't wearing his seatbelt , that would rule . Imagine that Niko gets held hostage in his car while he'S driving, and that he crashes the car on purpose since the guy next to him isn't wearing his seatbelt , that would rule . It would also make sense. I mean there HAS to be a way to protect yourself in case you do crash. Imagine how much it would suck if you're escaping from the feds and then BAM you crash and game over. Anyways it's going interesting to see what kind of shenanigans peds will get into this time. It would be funny as hell to be driving or walking down the street and watch some poor bastard crash and send his body flying through the street. This still makes mel wonder how Paramedics will handle death/injuries in the game though. I'm guessing they'll keep the old method of magicly reviving people. mista morino
I was thinking that myself, isn't it in a film? Collateral? Actually , I was thinking of a scene in Lock Stock & 2 smoking barrels. The scene where the guy who does jobs with his son gets carjacked , the carjacker goes smaching into the windshield and the driver finish him off by smashing the car door on his melon. Oh which reminds me, I hope we can smash someone'S head with a car door. That would be sick !!
geomy
I would post on-topic, but seeing as there's not much of a topic to comment on, I'll leave my remarks on the title. I just wanted to say, this is possibly the greatest thread title to ever grace the GTA IVums. Unfortunately the content contained therein leaves much to be desired. for such a good title, for such weak content. 2 cents.
fishermanGTA
I think that seeing someone fly through a windshield will be a pretty rare occurrence. This being because having peds fly through them all the time, and have bodies all over the street would just be a bit too much. Ped's therefore will be a lot better at driving I think. Now Niko flying through the windsheild is a totally different story
