ChaniWani
Around the time of the first previews last year, the developers of GTA IV said that there wasn't going to be any countryside like in San Andreas, but CVG has claimed that there are Marshlands that are similar to SA's country side, any comments on this?? See for yourself CVG preview 3 note: Scroll to the bottom where it says sea view To finish our demo Rockstar gave us a treat (no, not the GTA t-shirts). Niko hopped onto a motorcycle, harnesses his helmet and heads off into the marshland. It's a scene not unlike the hilly countryside of San Andreas, but it doesn't last long. Niko throws his helmet to the floor and de-saddles as we reach a small wooden dock. The dock leads to a big red speed boat and it's time to go for a swim, oh yes. chapman_bobby
I'm very happy they didn't just entirely cut out the country side I grew to love so much. So many racing games make use of various terrains (ie Smugglers Run) and when it was in GTA, it really fit so well. I'm glad they aren't completely neglecting that aspect. Now onto my theory. I honestly would not be surprised to see Rockstar using downloadable content (later I mean, once the whole contract with Microsoft is expired) to add more country side and perhaps a few smaller cities. These updates may occur periodically until GTA V comes out, which actually would connect to GTA IV's Liberty City via the downloaded land. Now you can drive from whatever city is in V all the way to Liberty. If they keep this up, by the time we go next gen, we'll have a few states worth of game to drive around in. I mean imagine if we had Vice City, Liberty, San Andreas, and country side connecting them all. Or maybe they'd make new cities, who knows. The point is I think it would be a really great feature for the game. -Bobby

Typhus
Marshland? Good place to hide a body and I should know. I pass marshland every day in my job. It's creepy, desolate and easy to get lost in. Thanks for including it Rockstar! Now we just need you to include that serial killer...

There is a programming limit to how much land can be in GTA right now, you know. and San Andreas reached it previously.

The Jersey Devil is mostly "founded" in the Pine Barrens which is more South Jersey (about 3-4 counties South/South-West of NYC) Though there are various sightings all over the state Jersey Devil researched Information
