San Fierro Garage Error

Yes, well as most of you know, the garage in Doherty stores four vehicles correct?

 

Well for some strange reason I cannot anymore, 3 only, and I dare to take the current cars out due to the fact that my storage my become even more limited. I checked my pc and ps2 version of the game just to check, and yes 4 cars/bikes can be stored.

 

I did the old tricks that doesn't work in San Andreas, but in previous GTA's (Hop 'outta the car, open the garage door then drive in), but the 4th vehicle disappears.

 

I just recently got the Xbox version (yes I'm playin on xbox) of the game so sorry if this is a known bug but I want to be able to store four cars for the inport/export crane .

 

Any ideas?, also everytime I try to enter the 4th car to the garage I do get the message saying:

'You cannot store any more cars in this garage!'

This is gonna be kinda difficult to troubleshoot since you are on XBOX.

Anyways, were you at any point before able to store 4 cars?

If you were, do you remember any weird happenings that might have caused this glitch?

 

Also, if you have purchased the safehouse in Hashbury (the one with the big garage), see if you can store 4 vehicles in there.

 

If you have saved in other slots, try those saves too.

 

If the problem persists, the only solution seems to be starting a new game.

Try taking all the cars out of the garage and putting them back in the garage. Mabee you can only store 3 cars there on the XboX version.

No, you can store 4 cars in the garage regardless of your platform.

 

I just ran through SystemError's guide and found out that cars are known to vanish very frequently in the Doherty Garage. Perhaps, that is the problem.

@girishb: Yes, I had four cars in there when I first arrived in San Fierro (No cars were stored in there before legitly reaching accsess to San Fierro.)

 

I can't recall any weird glitches happening during gameplay, However I could of easily forgotten any glitches since I have been spacing out my gameplay duration on the xbox, 'cos I've recently just been modding my PC version of the game Therefore no motive for going on the Xbox .

 

I have purchased the SafeHouse in Hashbury, and yes I can store 4 vehicles in there.

 

No, sadly I have the game only saved in slot one.

 

@ryan: You can definatly store 4 vehicles in the garage on the Xbox version of the game.

 

Thanks for your help so far, I will try Ryan's suggestion in a little while, Worth a try.

I have the same problem (PC version 2). When I first arrived to SF I was able to store 4 vehicles there, then at some point I noticed that 1 bike and 1 car dissappeared (were eaten by the garage while there were 4 vehicles in total), and after that I have been able to store only 3 vehicles there.

Try this:

Store 4 bikes in the garage and make sure that they're sufficient distance apart from each other. Check if any of them disappears.

Atleast, we can find out if this has got anything to do with the position in which the vehicles are stored.

Tried it just now, I had to force the other PCJ in though, due to it only letting me store 3 cars.

 

Yes, The last one I put in dissapeared, I'm not starting over, so I guess I'll just live with it.

 

I'm playing on 360 so maybe that could influence this problem (as opposed to playing it on the first Xbox, which it was designed for originally.)

I'm on PS2 and the Doherty garage "eats" vehicles in my game too.

It does it on My PC (SA V1.0) as well.

Interestingly, tonight as I played and at some point I took out 1 car from my garage and saved, after that I was able to only store 2 vehicles in there. So far I have had always 3 vehicles on my saves and it has kept them. I reverted to an earlier save so that I continue to have 3 in there, but I don't know if it's worth it, can't really use them if I can't take anything out, lol. So it's possible that at some point I'll be able to store only 2 vehicles there in the future.

FWIW, the only time I've ever had any problems with a garage in GTA SA is when I've put something that's too big in there. Like putting the tank in a small garage in LV. It means you can't get into it to drive it out.

 

I'm fairly sure I've never lost any vehicles from the garage in SF and I use that all the time. I usually just keep a load of motorbikes in there and I use that as my main base of operations in SF

I'm on PC V.1 and I've lost cars in the (LS)Ganton, Santa Maria Beach, (SF) Doherty, Paradiso, Calton Heights,...Verdant Meadows

airfield, and Prickle Pine in (LV)...but I dont

think I've EVER lost one in any of the others!?

I play on ps2, as well. My cars in dohetry get "eaten" too. I just put in a jester, fcr-900, and elegy, so im gonna see how that works. I think the max i can have in there is 2, but im trying for 3...
