mightyox
At first I thought that having weapons inside bags/coats sounded great and it is in theory BUT what about when your in the middle of a major firefight and you need to switch from your pistol to the AK in your bag, there is no realsitic AND quick animation for; taking the bag off your back; unfastening the drawstring; removing the rifle; fastening the bag and putting the bag back over your shoulder. The likelihood is by this time your a goner. I can live with magic weapons for the sake of accessibility. In actual fact, he would probably just unzip and pull out a larger weapon, toss bag and blast away. he wouldnt make sure every zip is done up etc, put back on back etc.
grekster
Edit @ stanley: Touche I've been thinking about all that for a long time you know You were only impaired when you had the rocket launcher out, but when you had another gun out you could run normally. In your way if your carrying the rocket launcher, whether out or in the bag, it will be slowing you down. So even if you just ahve your pistol drawn youll be walking slow cause youve got the rocket launcher in your bag, and that doesnt sound fun. Nice try though:P

He just sort of pulled the gun out of his jacket but it was short and fluid and look awesome. Id be more then happy with something like that. For the life of me I can't find the video anywhere though

This is all I could find at the moment: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=308395 Interesting topic, it highlights the new details. Some people who previewed it noticed it I think. It appears weapons will continue to appear magically on you're person. No bags.
JohnnyDrama
Here's the thing, that RPG isn't going to fit in a duffel bag. Take a look at Call of Duty 4 - God, I love that game - they carry the shoulder fired weapons on their backs, the strap draped over one shoulder. If Rockstar were to make this realistic, that's how those type weapons would need be handled. There's where you run into a problem, because pedestrians are sure to have strange reactions towards an Eastern European man - or any man for that matter - wearing a shoulder fired rocket. I would. I would love to see the weapons hanging visibly from Niko, I would. However, would this be asking for too much trouble in-game?
Snake Without a Tongue
The duffel bags were just for a bank heist mission apparently. And the trunks were for objects relevant to mission objects. And yes, magic weapons suck. And I'll bet peds won't even react to visible weapons either (except in certain situations). Same as in past games. In general, I'm disappointed about this. But I'll live.

BigBoyTraks
to me having magical weapons and not having magical weapons are just as good as each other. Each has it's positives and negatives. Exactly bro. Both wil have their positive and negatives. Regardless everyone that posted in this thread will buy GTA IV. So whats the point. As the saying goes "You don't like. You don't Buy!!! Stanley_Coleman
The RPG should fit in a trunk. I understand your reasoning guys, you don't want to let go these precious treasures that you hardly found or bought for some high prices but what's wrong with a little bit more difficulty ? In my opinion, if you need a RPG, a chainsaw, a flamethrower or any other unusual weapon in a mission, this weapon will be directly involved in the action and you'll get it instantaneously, it's the way to go. And if you want to carry a RPG for fun and besides the missions, you'll assume to get some stars.
Jimmarn
i like it actually... was alittle concerned about the weapon amount you could have if it wasn't a "magical" thing... and how the cops would react if you was wearing a gun on your back.. was alittle afraid they'd make it way too realistic you can say... Nabbesnabb
I'd prefer if they had a short animation of him pulling his gun from the hip or coat or whatever, instead of magically appearing. Shouldn't be hard to make either. No big deal though. I find it more disappointing that we can carry a limitless amount of weapons in our pockets tho, if I have understood the preview right. Seems like it negates the use of cartrunks and bags, yeah. I was hoping that perhaps if you had a big long coat, you could hide many guns and uzis and other short weapons in it, strap an AK to your back, or put in a bag, and hide the rest in the trunk. You know, so we would have to choose what weapons we would bring. In Vice City I actually once thought it was so lame with being able to pull a rocket launcher, grenades and everything out of your ass that I started to only pick up one or two kinds of weapon and sticked to them the rest of the game for the sake of realism. xD Made it a bit more fun to. There was so many weapons I never used after picking them up anyway.
Stanley_Coleman
"You don't like. You don't Buy!!! Was it necessary ? Are we supposed to be in this forum only to praise a game even it is had to become sh*t from one day to another ?
FelipeVinhao
Liked your post. It gives some good ideas. The RPG should fit in a trunk. And it also shouldn't fit under characters' clothes. So this should be attached to their backs. Most of the time this is what happened on previous editions - when there's a mission that you need it, you automatically get it. But also agree about making it more difficult to find out of missions. And if you want to carry a RPG for fun and besides the missions, you'll assume to get some stars. In previous editions, you only get the "stars" if you shot it, but only one shot was necessary. Maybe at least this weapon will give a wanted level only because you're carrying it.
Oblivionz
No matter what they way they're doing it will be perfect, R* doesn't make many errors in the way we get our weapons. Car trunks could even work like in True Crime where you just replenish your ammo by doing so.

Nah bro I totally agree with you. But Im just saying let's be happy that we are getting the game in April you know and start looking at the positive things and not always the negatives. Which these forums are known to do alot. @ Stanley_Coleman What mistake did Rockstar make? Obviously they purposly did it so how can it be a mistake. Are we supposed to be in this forum only to praise a game even it is had to become sh*t from one day to another ? i completley agree, whats the point of a forum, if its just actually an ego-stroking GTA wank-fest. i agree again with the statement earlier that most people just want GTA with an improved engine and not actually a next gen game, carrying 10 weapons is fine in something such as half life 2, as it has a flowing storyline and the opportunity to store and choose weapons is impossible and would effect gameplay, but GTA had the chance to evolve this systems to the bag/trunk option, staying with the old dated system is a mistake in my opinion as we will just play the game in the same way i.e the second a machine gun is made available, the user will just use that for the majority of the game making any opportunity for tatical and tense shoot-out obsolete
