dannydeviant
I am considering replacing my current panasonic 51cm flat crt tv with a 24-26" pc monitor or tv. I'm running my ps3 through my tv via component at 16:9 aspect ratio. My initial thought was to purchase a dell 24" monitor. Do you think i will notice a difference with ps3 games, I'm not using it for movies or tv just games? normally i sit approx 2m from my tv. Thanks in advance for your help. [CTD]LaBan
Yeah, that would make a difference. Try to go to shop to see it
Picolini
I've got a flat screen CRT TV, and it's ok. You can definitely noticed a difference when hooking the Xbox 360 to my PC LCD monitor, it's much more crisp than on the CRT. If you're just getting it for gaming, you could probably get a PC monitor like you said. I'm not sure if the PS3 has a DVI/VGA converter you can get, but most likely you can. The thing is audio, as not all monitors have speakers built it. You can get some decent, cheap speakers to use. I've got Philips 32w 2.1 speaker system for my computer (2 speakers and a subwoofer) for $40, and I can use that for the 360, I just need a 2-1 adapter for the speakers. Otter
Well, it comes down to this - the benefit of getting a monitor vs a TV is HD - and HD is 16:9. PC Monitors come in two flavours, 4:3 and 16:10 - and the only ones in 16:10 (at least, from my experience) are LCD. You'll definitely get more bang for your HD buck if you go LCD.
