10wellsmit Posted January 25, 2008 Share Posted January 25, 2008 Hey, this is just a place to bitch about Australia's ridiculously outdated video game classification system. I think it's despicable. If you don't know in Australia there is no 18+ Restricted rating for games. If it can't make 15+ then it is either censored or banned. I did some digging in the OFLC website (the Aussie equal of the ESRB) and somewhere in the 117 page document I found that these laws were created in 1995. In 1995 everything was 2D, imagine an 18+ 2D game. The only thing that could possibly make it Adult is a sex minigame, similar to the Hot Coffee mod. Back then there was no REALISTIC video game violence. You couldn't dismember a ninja or have girlfriends like in GTA. These laws need to be updated.
