fug34 Posted January 25, 2008 Share Posted January 25, 2008 Anyone a fan of the Manhunt series? I really love them, in particular the first Manhunt. It is probably my favorite Rockstar title released thus far. The second was good, but not to the level of the first one. The edits don’t bother me though; I just think it wasn’t as scary or tense as the original. The series isn’t as popular as GTA by a long way I guess, but the people that like it seem to be really passionate about it. There used to be a great Manhunt fan community site called manhunt-uncut.com but I guess they closed it down for whatever reason, I think it was before Manhunt 2 was even announced. The only place I know of now is some Italian site that basically stole a bunch of the info from them. Anyway, do you think there will be a Manhunt 3? I really hope they make one, they never shy away from controversy so I hope they won’t be bullied into not making one. CarpetDweller Posted January 25, 2008 Share Posted January 25, 2008 (edited) Manhunt Uncut changed its name to Project Manhunt. It's still run by the same people. I did enjoy the first one, but haven't played the second yet. I had it on order for ages, but decided to cancel last week as my PS2 isn't set-up any more and they still haven't released it in the UK. The release date currently says 28/03/2008. I just gave up waiting. No doubt I'll play it one day. I like the casual crossover references between Manhunt and GTA and hope these continue. Hmmm nice bike Posted January 25, 2008 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I am a big fan of Manhunt. I remember first hearing about it on TV, and saw it was banned. I researched more, and thought the game looked awesome, so I ordered it. The day I finally got it in the mail (February '07), I played it through the part where you have to save the family members in the zoo. The same day I got it was also the day that Manhunt 2 was announced (how ironic!). It's a hard game for first-time players. I gave up twice (first in the scene in the chemical factory, and second in the scene in the mansion's backyard). I finally beat it in June, and boy how happy I was to see the credits rolling. Shortly afterwards, I made a video explaining the things that were changed or removed in the beta version of the game. When I got the second one for PSP on Haloween, I was able to make it halfway through the game! The day after, I beat it. I thought the second one was easier, but alot freakier than the first. The first was just an escaped convict making his way through "Carcer City," but the second has alot more story to it, and a strange story it was. It is by another Rockstar studio so the references aren't as large as before but I imagine it is still North’s baby so hopefully we see 3 like you said. They switched names because of Manhunt 2, which deals with a thing called "The Pickman Project." So, they re-named the site after The Project. And, yeah, the manual says that Danny went to University of San Fierro, San Andreas in 1985. I've only played Manhunt 2, still haven't finished it though I'm up to the Graveyard mission and I have to take his wife to the grave The last mission is pretty creepy though. Claude94: Wasn't the Project the name of the company, and the name for what they were working on was reffered to as the Pickman Bridge? Also, yes, the Pickman Project was the name of the research company that made the Pickman Bridge. That's the "thing" I was reffering to, not the bridge, if that's what you're talking about. I know I didn't it was rumored for a while on Manhunt Uncut but it never caught my attention until someone said it was announced and I was shocked to say the least so I think Manhunt 3 will be kept quiet and then thrown out at the last possible minute I just hope it isn't censored hopefully by then we will have seen equally as violent games so that it can be fully uncut when it is released. I will check out Project Manhunt as well I didn't know they had moved I was still checking that Manhunt Uncut site in hopes of them coming back. Anyway thanks for the link carpetdweller. Manhunt 3 would probably be a while away yet though, maybe 2 year or something. But they need to get it released outside of America first, Manhunt 2 that is. GTA_Fan85 Posted February 19, 2008 Share Posted February 19, 2008 Yeah as he said it is not very far into the game I would go as far is to suggest getting the PC version if you need cheats since you can download a save file for it and then enter cheats that way since the art panels will be unlock revealing the cheats. Manhunt 2 should come out any day now but the BBFC are stalling the game, anyway I will be waiting on Manhunt 3 in the next 2 years which isn't that long to wait considering think Rockstar North will work on the game?
