It would be cool if we have the option to put on a seat belt. But that was a really good read. I wish they could post more about the things they saw. This game is already sounding like the best game ever..Well only 3 long months away....

You can say that again.

I agree about the seatbelt option, should be there. As should be the ability to lock the car doors, but then I suppose with the updated AI in this game compared to previous GTAs (where you can put the door lock cheat on) the NPC will just smash your window anyway!

Yes, and not for the realistic aspect, you will literally 'want' them.

Maybe R* copied this from Saints Row. In Saints you were catapaulted through the winsheild and out onto the road infront of you during heavy impacts, also happened to others on the road when you hit them. IMO it was a bit annoying getting back into your car every time you hit something with enough force lol.

Comparing Euphoria to the ragdoll that was used in SR is blasphemy! It's so much more then ragdoll, and this preview explains it.

These last few days have pushed my excited meter through the roof. This is going to be so epic.

Personally, I think that article was better than the recent previews - has me more excited at least.

I really dont think its an exaggeration to say it will most certainly be best game of the year and too me and many others one of the best games to date. (Why shouldn't it?) It will set the bench mark not only for its rivals, but for most next gen titles in the next couple of years without a doubt. And that's an understatement.

At one point in the demo Niko slammed into a truck and was sent flying through the windshield.

we witnessed a woman break into a jog and pull her shawl close around her. Moments later, a storm front rolled in and the rain came down. That's pretty impressive stuff right there.

That was a good read! We are lucky to have this masterpieace. happy.gif

That can be annoying, but not to the point where it happens all the time,I hope.

That's the beauty of the physics engine. It can realistically determine if it should have happened or not. It's not like that true crime sh*t where it looked completely canned. This is about the bulk of the mass of your body flying forward with enough acceleration to lift the rest of your body at enough force to shatter the winshield. That take a pretty damn hard hit. So I wouldn't really expect to see it happen too often unless you want it to happen (ie slam at max speed into on coming traffic).

Also I think they were mistaken in the review (about being rear ended). When you're rear ended, your body leans backwards due to the forward acceleration of your car caused by the collision. Unless he hit a wall or another stopped car in front of him immediately afterwards.

Honestly Rockstar may not have even intended to add this feature. The physics engine can calculate mass, acceleration, directional impact, center of gravity, and more. It's entirely possible that Rockstar implemented the characters in the car separately and intended for car accidents to jar the characters around in the car, and the actual flying through the windshield could have been entirely physics based.

Either way, Saints Row used a script to throw people through the windshield. It happened whenever they felt it would look acceptable. However in GTA, it's entirely based off of speed, direction of impact, transfer of energy, center of gravity, ect. It actually would require specific conditions to occur.

I wouldn't worry, this will not be an annoyance.

I cant remember if GTA4 will have DMM (Digital Molecular Matter) technologies incorporated in with the euphoria like in Star wars The Force Unleashed game. If you see the previews for the Force Unleashed the two technologies working together looks amazing and is something that should definitely be in GTA4 if it isn't already.

Its not, DMM it's Star Wars: Force Unleashed exclusive so it cannot be used together. Euphoria in itself though incorporated into the living breathing world that R* is so good at making will change the game completely.

By the way DMM technologies is not exclusive to Lucas Arts permanently. There contract ends October 2008.
