adrian949
Halo = Nerd-making-bullsh*t. GTA IV = an example of how sandbox games should be made true. Honestly, Halo just seems lame especially in the sense of its setting. if i want to play a FPS ill play COD4 instead of Halo. It just sounds gay if u play a fantasy/ very unrealistic game like Halo or WOW, it just seems a lot more badass (I guess thats the word Ill use) to play a game that is a relatively realistic that is about war, organized crime, drugs, etc. That fantasy stuff never appealed to me. ( i mean sh*t if i play halo i might as well play Dungeons and Dragons) i think the average owner of a GTA game is more likely to have a real social life with ambitions and goals in there careers and have the ability to pick up girls than say the owner of a Halo game But any who GTAIV will be on both platforms, more people will own xbox's when GTA comes out compared to when Halo 3 came out. And the fact that GTA comes out in a time that a lot of people will hav free time (near summer). And the fact everyone loves GTA due to the fact i think San Andreas is the best selling game of all time, it will definitely outsell Halo 3 OH YA....and the fact this game will go above and beyond any other game before Edited January 26, 2008 by adrian949
Starion
i think San Andreas is the best selling game of all time Wrong. Pokémon Red, Blue, and Green (Game Boy – 20.08 million sold approximately, 10.23 million in Japan,[39] 9.85 million in US) Compared to: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2 – 12 million sold) Infact, San Andreas is actually only the 11th best selling game of all time. mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno. ryuclan
I would hope that this game outsells Halo 3, but i think its very likely. Put it this way, a kid asks his parents for Halo 3, and im certain the parent see's no harm in the game and buys it, but a kid asks for GTA IV and becasue of GTA reputation im pretty sure that kid wont be getting it. I hope GTA IV will have a midnight launch to create media attention, this way many others will jump on it's hype and buy the game too. I think a gta game wasnt been released in a long time, aside from the psp titles and even though halo 2 came out the same year as San andreas did halo 2's online multiplayer kept it alive while only one person could play San Andreas. And lastly, Halo 3 was an end to a trigoly, hell the end of 2 was the biggest cliffhanger-ish ending a game could have. many people went to the store to finshe a story that elasped througn 3 games, while GTA IV isnt a sequel to anything, let alone trying to call the last 3 gta's sequels to eachother. But i do hope it outsell Halo 3! But people don't understand that the average gamer is 30...not 12, or 15, or even 18. If I had a kid I would buy this game. Not for him/her, but for me. This is something I wouldn't be able to miss. My mom brought me GTA SA with no question. She knew about all the stuff that people said surrounded the game but she knew that I was mature enough to play a game with content like that. Halo is worse on me anyway. I get so mad playing that I feel like throwing something, or punching somebody. GTA never did that to me. GTA will outsell Halo in due time, not right out the gate. @Starion: Well there are like a million different Mario games so that doesnt surprise me.. As of March 3, 2005, the game had sold over 12 million units for the PlayStation 2 alone.[28] As of September 25, 2007, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the best-selling video game in the United States,[29] ahead of its predecessors Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto III.[29] As of September 26, 2007, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has sold 20 million units,[30] with 8.6 million of those units being sold in the US.[29] thats what wikipedia says look it up and read what is up there ^^^^ ya GTA owns
Solari24
i doubt it cuz alot of ppl under the age of 18 wont get gta because of their parents....where as halo 3 even though it was M for mature parents didnt know it to be as infamous as grand theft auto. MadDogg_3106
What you've got to remember is that GTA IV is being released on the Xbox 360 AND the PS3, therefore appealing to a wider audience. So I'd say yes, GTA IV will outsell Halo 3.

Jonny04
Halo 3 has sold over 9 million units as of December 31st 2007, and thats in only 3 months dude. Its a pretty decent game and pretty good sales. To beat Halo GTA would need to sell close to 4 million units in week 1, as by the 9th day of Halo's sales it had topped 4 times platinum. Being more of a GTA I hope my purchase is one of the millions that make it outsell Halo in week 1 and over all time. Lol I still play mor cod than H3 tbh tho. Nabbesnabb
Why do you care anyway? What's the big deal? It's two widely different games. Closest thing they have in common is that there is shooting and driving... and that's pretty much it. Why does it matter so much for you if it outsells Halo 3 or not. You, personally, don't gain ANYTHING from it. Hell, nor does Rockstar or Bungie. I'm sure they'll be just happy with people buying and enjoying their games so they get something back for the hard work. But the keywords is: Why does it matter so much for you that you people have to start a fanboy war, calling the other games crap, eventhough most of you hardly has a clue about it. Like I said, there is no gain for you in which sells best. You wont get chicks by saying "Hey, GTA IV outselled Halo 3 in only one week, wanna do it?". I agree with your mom's view about trusting you for being mature to play the game and i hope theres more people like her out there that also understand that, but the media tells parents that a GTA game is bad and causes violence. and in todays society compairing gta's alleged "violence training" to your thoughts on halo's fustrating campaign and online play the two just dont pair up.
