NYC5
I think it definitley will, being on Xbox 360 and PS3. And with the addition of multiplayer there's another great reason why it will. It will be a huge seller and will be a game for the ages! What are your thoughts people?

nlitement
I sure do hope so. An FPS couldn't possibly be more overrated. The genre just simply doesn't have the capacity to deliver an immersive and fun, awesome experience like a free roam game can (namely GTA, of course!). MorticianENG
I think it will crush the sales of Halo 3. Halo has a tonne of haters and is only on a single format, whereas GTA is loved by everyone and is going to be distributed for 2 consoles. The first day sales will be an interesting read, with it being a world wide release.
Rick88
Depends, if GTA IV does a good job of advertising and buidling up hype (which they will) I'm confident they can outsell Halo 3 the first week. If not, then they will overall.
Moth
I think it might. It is way better then that piece of sh*t called Halo. The General. Runs away from the halo fanbots Formerly known as The General

GTA always deserves to outsell Halo 3. but it won't. but i supose its not a bad thing really. i mean, think of IV as your favorite food. "more for me" if you get my drift. d00d
Definitely. Not only is interest in the GTA franchise generally higher than and kind of FPS franchise (the user base is a lot broader as the gameplay is more appealing), this is going to be a multi-platform game. Its logic that it will sell its nuts off.

Lustmord21
It should, halo 3 had almost no replayability, after beating it on legendary. This game will just be insane, so yeah....I'm guessing you are screwed if you dont pre-order it. Hopefully not though! I'm almost dying to play this game now. Knife
If R* hypes it, then yes. But if they let the game build hype by itself, then maybe not.
BlackMamba47
I can say one reason (of many) why GTA:IV will outsell Halo in terms of first-day, first-week, lifetime sales: Multi-Platform.
Isuck100%
Halo 3 is the fastest selling entertainment product in history. It's highly unlikely that GTA IV will sell faster, even on 2 consoles simultaneously.
derty
The sheer love of R* North games and GTA in me, of course, fills me with the notion that it has already outsold halo 3 in pre-sales... I wish I knew a place to really see how many of halo3 has been sold, and how many gta IV have, so that I can actually know
Seddo
Well considering Halo 3 was only released on the 360 i'm pretty confident the combined sales from the PS3 and 360 of GTA 4 will go sailing past Halo 3.

Isuck100%
It should, halo 3 had almost no replayability, after beating it on legendary. That is a ridiculous statement. Halo 3 has arguably more replay value than any game on the market because of its multiplayer with tons of features and the huge online community. Halo 2 was the most played online game for 3 years until Halo 3 was released. Now I don't want to make it look like I'm defending Halo, because I personally hate the series, but you shouldn't make ridiculous statements like this. EntropicLqd
....The (FPS) genre just simply doesn't have the capacity to deliver an immersive and fun, awesome experience like a pony farm game can (namely GTA, of course!). That's bollocks. Or at the very least merely a matter of opinion. I find I can get immersed in both first and third person games. It is merely a matter of good audio, a plausible game world, consistency, and a lack of things that make you go "that doesn't make sense". On the PC (because that's what I happen to play my games on) I would refer you to the following FPS games that have excellent immersion: Unreal, BioShock, CoD, Doom, and GRAW. And those are the ones that come to mind immediately. There are probably others. I'm, not knocking 3rd person perspective games. Heck, I found Max Payne, Splinter Cell, and GoW very immersive, again to name but a few. The GTA games, while I thoroughly enjoy them, have never had me on edge in the same way that GoW or Splinter Cell managed. There are too many little niggles (insane stunts, cars appearing in the middle of the road from no-where and doing the fastest 360 you ever saw, lousy LoD optimisations, and many others) for me to play it as if it were anything but "a game". You can become immersed in any game. It's merely a matter of choice. You seem to find it a matter of perspective (3rd of first), I find it a matter of quality and consistency. Interesting, go use that logic to explain to me what happened with Halo 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Spiderman who all held the previous record(s)
