mmmfloorpie
They had power windows in 1986... And I kind of doubt that they will just rehash Vice City and San Andreas... Like it was cool the second time around to mimic the original game but now we need a bit more originalty... GTA in different countries might be next like they tried to do AFTER the original with GTA London...

fishermanGTA
So from a few words written down, with no vocals or emotions to judge by, you have come to the conclusion that POWER BALLADS and the words "about those yet" means that the next GTA will be set in Vice City??? Some people really read into things far too much. EDIT: I love how compton is still trying to maintain his tough guy persona "some guys would punch you for that" Edited January 25, 2008 by fishermanGTA

FelipeVinhao
CB: I'm imagining Tommy Vercetti furiously turning the window lever. No power windows in 1986.MC: Plenty of power ballads, though. MR: Yeah. Too bad we can't talk about those yet. Sorry my friend. The only hint (more a rumour) that next one might be on Vice is an billboard close to a subway station. This was only a joke between "power windows" and "power balads". And when they say they can't talk about them yet is because they don't know sh*t about it - we don't even know clearly about GTA4 yet. So let's be happy GTA4 is announced and let the time answer this question. Btw, GamesRadar preview is as good as Kikizo.

GTA510
why would you want a remake of Vice City? That was the worst GTA city. You kids these days have no taste.
Warden Rhubarb
why would you want a remake of Vice City? That was the worst GTA city. You kids these days have no taste. Agreed. Vice City was the best city of the GTA III-era. San Fierro was the worst

They wouldn't have to include Tommy V in there because it would be seperate from the III era. Or they could set it in the very beginning of the 80's, like around 1982, depicting the death of disco and the birth of power ballads and synth music. The beginning of all the 80's pop culture. The beginning of the drug dealing and crime there. Would be pretty sweet. Then they could include a whole 70's station too.
Zombified Jake
Well, at least that cleared up something about the smashing the window part. People confused me by saying that the previews could have meant the front windscreen. (Haven't read the preview pasted onto this topic yet.) smalls
My opinion... Vice City will be an add-on to Liberty City, and then San Andreas after that. They will make it so you will be able fly between all 5 cities performing storyline missions for each.

Cities that aren't based on anything, in addition to being very un-GTAish, are usually generic, boring, difficult-to-understand and generally CRAPPY cities that are made up of phail and AIDS. ... a la Saint's Row. Making a parody out of a real city is GTA's shtick. On the other hand, Vice City was already great to begin with. Why mess with perfection? Sorry, but DO NOT WANT. Agreed. Vice City was the best city of the GTA III-era. San Fierro was the worst Also heavy disagreement. San Fierro was positively AMAZING when compared to the absolute crappy tack-on that was Las Venturas. Talk about a waste of space. Edited January 25, 2008 by Le_Joker

mmmfloorpie
I personally got the most enjoyment out of Vice City when it first came out... It's just a really complete package and it's well refined.... San Andreas was just waaaay too big and complex so you loose out on alot of the 'little things'.... Also I think the soundtrack in San Andreas sucked monkey balls....
Algonquin Assassin
You kids these days have no taste. How true. Vice City would rule on current gen, but it has to be in the 80s. Any other era would ruin it. IMO.

adrian949
JUST because Liberty City is being used again, doesn't mean the others will be. Rockstar said that they've always wanted to create a bustling metropolis, and i don't think they would do Vice City or San Andreas, and if they were to do San Andreas then they would probably choose one city (probably Los Santos), Re-Make it so it looks just like Los Angeles unlike San Andreas, and put loads of beach towns like Laguna Beach, Newport Harbor and some suburban towns to the north. God that would be awesome if they included Orange COunty in the next GTA, because thats where i live it would be hilarious to see a caricature of ORange COunty it would b really easy to make fun of. But to include an area that south of LA would make a game bigger than True Crime: streets of LA. But ya orange county is pretty big area and has some pretty diverse area (like the difference between Laguna and Santa Ana) but nothin significant enough to come after a replica of New York as a sequel. I would enjoy it R*

roofy85
i think that GTA HAS to stay in fiction cities based on cities in america. half of the fun of the game is the lack of gun control. remeber how you could go into the ammunation and buy an assault rifle? that wouldnt work in any country other than america. just my opinion
