Draw distance - Peds

Im taking a wild guess that with sniping missions being specifically mentioned by R* that they would have sorted out the dodgy ped spawn distances of the prior GTA's

 

You have all probably noticed that peds disappear after walking more than a 100 m or so from you in game, zooming in on a street far away is no good either. The irony in the series is that in GTA3, if you zoomed in on the end of a street, peds WOULD spawn, sometimes amazingly far away, in SA sniping seemed almost pointless.

 

Lets hope that in '4' peds will spawn and be more 'persistant' than in prior games in the series.

Well with the increased draw distance that was complemented even in the first previews, I think we will see just as much "hustlin' and bustlin' down the streets as we will around us.

 

I REALLY want to be able to snipe people from the roof tops instead of having to be within 20 metres of them.

Yeah, good point. I hope Rockstar will have made some nice adjustments to sniping and the distances involved (and hopefully with the ability to go up on all sky scrapers, some nice views).

 

Sniping was pointless in previous GTAs so I would like to see a big improvement with GTAIV icon14.gif

How bout mil dots in the sights, adjusting for distance. Im not gonna say windage , tho lets be honest, how cool would bullet drift in bad weather be !

Reminds me of that Call of Duty 4 sniper mission.

 

Yeah, wind affecting bullets would be sweet. And in the preview, they said even if you missed a shot on someone who was up high, they get shaken with shock and fall off. That is amazing icon14.gif

Sniping should feel alot more authentic this time round due to increased draw distance.

Anyway, draw distance has always been one of my biggest pet peeves. I really hope it's a lot better this time around, which I'm sure it will be. I love sniping, especially in MP. sly.gif

In one of the reviews it said there was windometer so maybe the bullets may be affected by it.You can also customise it making it zoom more I say so I say the draw distance will be improved and a lot better than previous GTA's
