nlitement
You're on the right tracks, man. Very few people here try to do research on that. Yes, from earlier previews you might recall that he created a CV where it read that he served in the "Balkan Peace Forces". So that narrows down it to all Slavic countries in the Balkan area. My money's still on a country that's ambiguous by design, but in Yugoslavia. So he's Yugoslavian for sure. They might use a some sort of mixed language or not use much of his native language at all. BrokerZoo
My previous topic on this subject I agree with you fully but I don't think there is a specific country of origin. But all signs point to this region.

gTA 4 Rok*
who gives a sh*t realy.... no offence but I think the whole reason he has no REAL nassionality is because rockstar don't want him to have one. Either so they do not get any leagal issues with that country or due to the fact that they feel tat the story is about his life in america and how it completely contrasts his old life. This way how harsh his real country is is up to you. I could very well be wrong but to be honest it makes no difference to me...I just want to play the game. nlitement
We just concluded that he's from Yugoslavia. Oh goody, ill let Rockstar know that youve finally made your decision. I already emailed them. From: [email protected] To: Me Title: Re: Niko's nationality Yes, nlitement. You're completely correct on this, we've deliberately tried to define Niko's nationality no further than the Yugoslavian countries, not to any specific country. Just like we know that the Simpsons are in the US, we know Niko's from Yugoslavia, but we don't know which state the Simpsons are in, and neither do we know which country Niko's from. Just like in the Simpsons, which is yet again a prime example, we drop off little evidences that contradict each other but do not contradict that he's from Yugoslavia per se, for instance, he says "zdravo burazeru" which is both used in Bosnia and Serbia. Then he makes the three finger salute, which is a known Serbian gesture. There are lots of things you will find. So either we don't really know where he's from! He's a bit of everything. Best wishes, Dan Houser, Executive producer Rockstar Games
gtathebest4ever
oh, come on, everybody knows he's from japan... but seriously, i think R* will just make him "yugoslavian" and that's all.
