Right before finals. lol same i got my A-Levels around then but. f*ck qualifications. I'l have GTA IV I can't study nonstop for very long, so I'll be getting my GTA IV on, too. At least now we HAVE a release date...but now it will come out at the very latest possible date within the three month timeframe -- and a week past the latest rumored release date (April 22nd/25th in UK)...(however it is now conveniently placed a day before my birthday ) and even though it's supposed to come out, it is possible that it could be delayed once more (still getting music rights...? These things do take time...)...and I have heard talks of May 12th ship date (May 13th release)... It is easy to see why R* said Feb - April '08 now. It's likely because when it was Aug 2nd, 2007, saying Late April/Early May '08 (and also considering the 2nd, as in Aug 2nd, is 27 days away from a 29th, the 29th being April 29th, almost considering it an extra month in itself...not to mention it's leap year this year, so there's an extra day in Feb, even!) without a possibility of completion by February or March would have likely caused riots! 9 months? A human can be made in that time! But anywho...I'm just being pessimistic and thinking of the worst possible outcomes so that when the actual outcome arrives it will be better (or not as bad). In other words: ignore me. Personally, I'm just glad we're finally getting some form of communication by way of R* concerning a release date (and gameplay mechanics/previews!)! For those of you fretting the wait...or if you just want a simple way to pass the time, like myself, here's an idea that I plan to implement personally, and maybe you guys will find it as a good way to pass the time for you as well: Wait until March 4th, buy Bully: Scholarship Edition for your system of choice, Wii or 360, and then try to race the release date of GTAIV by trying for 100% completion in Bully before GTAIV comes out. Sure, most of you could speed demon to completion by nightfall I'm sure, but not me, haha. Now, as for waiting until Bully: Scholarship Edition comes out... Well, if I get fired, at least I don't have to worry about asking off from work to pick them up at the airport on 01 May. Ok, so a good thing from all of this. No need to balance GTA4 with football watching on the weekends. Football's over in a week, GIANTS!!! so even if gta 4 came out in 2 weeks, then you wouldn't have to balance it. But for me, I'm going to have to balance my time with baseball. I can't wait to see the Yankees go on an undefeated season, season tickets baby!, like the patriots. Where do you go to school. College? I only get one week off, but 1 month off, that's amazing. You could call it a college, becuase that's in the title but I'd call it a Secondary School. This is purely a financial move on the part of T2 to be able to put GTA pre-orders and first day sales on their 2nd Quarter Statement while also bridging over into 3rd Quarter as well. Tsuroki Posted January 24, 2008 Share Posted January 24, 2008 They have to finish polishing the game, do all the necessary paperwork-related stuff (approved by censorship boards and whatnot), get the game produced, get it shipped internationally, then get it out to retailers. Like it or not, that will take a while, and April 29th seems like a solid date to ensure that all of that is done. You wouldn't want them to have to announce another delay, would you? (sounds so freaking long if you say it like that) Not to be a pessimist but 1/3 of the year is four months away Feb. March. April. April is a mere 3 months away and a 1/4 of a year away. Also, they said they are near the final product. They can still polish some bugs within the next month though nothing major. And it shouldn't take more then a week to print out, file the discs, and create the game box (whatever you want to call it. Also figure that they can print out a good amount having multiple machines too and simultaneously load the data to all the discs too). MysteryGamer Posted January 24, 2008 Share Posted January 24, 2008 (edited) I am the only one who thinks TakeTwo and Rockstar chose April 29th for the release date because Grand Theft Auto IV is planned to release worldwide on the exact same day? This will be one huge launch so surely they will need a lot of time to prepare for such a big release like this. Videogames very rarely are released in all territories on the same day so bearing this in mind and the fact that Rockstar need to fix glitches and polish the game as much as possible before It go's gold, and get the game rated etc, therefore I can see why the game is releasing as late as possible. Another wait will not kill us and it is not that long until it releases really. Having said that of course I would of like the game to release earlier I can barely wait to play it but we got a official release date now so I am happy. No more delays.
