SHXC
Ok, My mother's computer has got a virus and I dont know what to do, nor does she. It's blocked the use of CTRL + ALT + DEL so I can't bring Task Manager up to see what process I think it is, It wont allow me to use System Restore, The computer is hella slow with this virus. She done a virus and spyware check, It came up with 33 files. She has now deleted them. I ran Safe Mode and done it again and it's clean, but the virus is still there. Any help please? I'd be so thankful.
K^2
First of all, spyware check will not necessarily reveal all the worms. You should use proper anti-virus software if you cannot find malicious software yourself. Second, it is entirely possible that you no longer have any malicious software on your systems, and your problems arise from the changes that the worm/spyware has done to your registry. You should search for registry modification you need to make to re-enable the task manager and see if anything is still running. Also, check the startup lists, both in the startup folder and under the run keys in the registry. See if anything suspicious is still there. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
SHXC
I'm sorry K^2, I tried to edit my first post at college but it wouldn't work. We've sorted the problem. We finally found the name of the worm, Googled it which came up with help and a fix. I appreciate the help you gave though Thanks
