GTA3Freak-2001
Its a bit silly to jump to conclusions like assuming it will be the same as Driver PL, for all we know doing the mentioned actions such as running red lights merely raises the possibility that you will get some form of heat. I doubt Rockstar would be as silly to copy the Driver PL system that crossed the line of a realistic feature damaging the fun factor. Rockstar know where that line is, well I hope so anyway. mmmfloorpie
I'm sure it won't be the kind of police attention like it was in the original Driver game... If you did a burnout/went through a red or just sped the cops would take dead aim at you and ram you head on at full speed...

Rick88
In games like Mafia and the original Driver, it was an ok feature, but annoying at times. Hopefully if R* does have this, they could at least not make it a bit more, how should I say? enjoyable? non-annoying? Well you get the point. LCM
Yeah I don't think Rockstar would just throw traffic violations and such into the game without a care in the world. If they're in, they will have gone through the trouble to ensure it doesn't annoy us. I don't mind if they're in.
Darrel
It wont be anything like Driver parallel lines why are people fretting? I think this is a great feature to the game I'm not a realism nut or a complainer, but this sounds good too me. The worst that will happen if you're caught is that they will pull you over. And if you decide not to pull over it will probably be very easy to get rid of you're wanted level anyway, so I'm not worrying about this at all. paddyboy
I think gamespot pulled that outta their ass. How come no one else said anything about it? Sounds like they assumed it after seeing the toll thing. We will just have to see, when the game comes out. I would think other devs would have said something, since they clearly werent driving slow in the previews. Not all the review sites were shown the same demo. Each one was different. Rockstar must know how much we like puzzles and theories. In the other demos the R* reps had to lose the cops when driving fast, or "causing mischief". *MURDOC*
Time for another CARBINE23 Dialogue rambling and fart noises You really are annoying! Checked for errors. sronsr
what about hitting traffic lights off(hitting the pole and they will fall off), in GTA SA the cars were driving even if they had red light before i hit the traffic light off...
mcgriz
I hope this feature's in the game, it's realism, without that step too far.
CookPassBabtridge
If the increased heat from cops is simply getting followed for a bit, then it could work fine. That way, you would have to watch yourself for a few minutes until they detour and leave you to carry on the mayhem

That way, you would have to watch yourself for a few minutes until they detour and leave you to carry on the mayhem This is exactly how I imagine it, and I think it's fair. If they notice something suspicious, i.e. smashed window, then they will give chase. It makes sense. Unless they really do pull you over and give you a ticket, but I haven't heard anything like that. Porkeedeeo
In the gamespot preview they said this As Niko came upon a toll booth on his way to the bar, our demonstrator slowed down and allowed him to pay. As with most things in the game, normal acts like stopping at red lights and paying tolls are optional but can affect your wanted level if you don't abide by them. UGH. uhmumble. Might be a big crash after a red light in front of a cop. By the way 1 star (or whatever) never affected my "happy hour" in any GTA I played. And yes I find it funny, 'cause I want to hang out in a CITY
HAYDZBABE
Having to abide by traffic rules in order to keep zero wanted level? Might get old, but... there will be a cheat to stop it if it does... Chill out?

FelipeVinhao
I really don't understand you guys. First y'all complaing about lack of realism. Then about a realistic feature. Tsc tsc... Well, let's make everyone happy then. For realistic fanboys, we keep the red lights thing. For unrealistic fanboys, we keep taking the RPG from out of nowhere like in previous game. Everyone is happy now, eh?
nego00
Do you know how f*cking impossible it is to drive from one end of the map to the other, in Driver: Parallel Lines? The smallest thing you do the cops are ready to kill you. Accidentally run that light? SHOTGUN BLAST TO THE CHEST. Hit the gas too sudden on your bike and skid the pavement? HANDGUN SHOT TO THE HEAD. Having cops come after you for little things is just f*cking stupid. ....SHOT GUN BLAST TO THE CHEST!! lol
JohnnyDrama
So, I am assuming that going through a red light or not paying a toll booth will "start" the wanted level. But going through a red light, and there are no cops around; does the wanted level still go up or are there street cameras to add to the wanted level? If that article was correct, I'd have to guess your latter comment is the correct answer. However I don't think they would go as far as to add street cameras, instead letting the crime go unpunished, if police officers aren't present. That's my guess. rrool
Why would anyone want to have this feature in GTA? A part of the fun in GTA is that I can speed all the time and never get a ticket for it. OysterBarron
...oh, and they didn't ruin anything with your 'magical guns', that's how Niko needs to carry weapons, makes sense to me, it's common gaming practice unless you like things slowing down your game play! i would have liked it like what COD4 is like when you have the rocket launchers equipped you carry them on your back and use your primary gun

Seriously though, if it is just for things like this, it should be ok. Even everyday speeing (if a cop sees you) resulting in a star would be fun. If there is no cop around (hence they cant see you), no star.
