I was entertaining the idea on walking off the evenings drunk fun, er stuper, instead of driving, and would be interesting to see Niko lead Roman on foot to see how well they stay together, considering problems with gang recruitment in the past, I have doubts on this in the game.

no biggie really.. if you want to drive fast then having a couple 'o coppers tryin to stop you is always fun.

if you have a timer. then the idea is probably for you to get chased to make it cooler.

 

if you don't like it (and nor will I after a while) then fingers crossed for the ample supply of cheats.

Why would anyone want to have this feature in GTA? A part of the fun in GTA is that I can speed all the time and never get a ticket for it. Why would anyone want this in GTA?

At the Toll Booth, i'm simply going to pull out a D.Eagle and blow off the Toll gaurd's head. Then im going to pay the toll and drive through like nothing happened.

...oh, and they didn't ruin anything with your 'magical guns', that's how Niko needs to carry weapons, makes sense to me, it's common gaming practice unless you like things slowing down your game play!

Do you know how f*cking impossible it is to drive from one end of the map to the other, in Driver: Parallel Lines? The smallest thing you do the cops are ready to kill you. Accidentally run that light? SHOTGUN BLAST TO THE CHEST. Hit the gas too sudden on your bike and skid the pavement? HANDGUN SHOT TO THE HEAD. Having cops come after you for little things is just f*cking stupid.

This is one of the many features that made Driver: Parallel Lines a horrible game.

The Warriors system is well done and not a pain, but it can be considered as a pain in the a$$ in some instances.

I think this Wanted Level method sounds easier then that game, but we'll see ultimately

So, I am assuming that going through a red light or not paying a toll booth will "start" the wanted level. But going through a red light, and there are no cops around; does the wanted level still go up or are there street cameras to add to the wanted level?

As described there's no level unless a cop sees it, or perhaps some ped calls the cops... This was hinted at for 4 and used in previous R*' The Warriors game, so I can see it coming into play in GTA too

I think gamespot pulled that outta their ass. How come no one else said anything about it? Sounds like they assumed it after seeing the toll thing. We will just have to see, when the game comes out. I would think other devs would have said something, since they clearly werent driving slow in the previews.

Run a red light in GTA4 and it's no big deal, but neglect to pay the bridge toll and you've got yourself a wanted level.

I really wouldn't mind having this in the game. In fact, it may be a good thing, as now we would have the time to really soak up the environment instead of just blazing through it. It was also probably put into place to make us use the taxi system heavily, as many people would find it easier to take a taxi than risk getting a warning level by driving themselves.

I can see the point of driving normally, but in the vid game world, I still drive like a bat outta HELL!!!!

It doesn't make sense, they'd know it'd be too annoying. I'm sure there will be timed missions where you have to rush to get somewhere and to have cops would be irritating and not fun.

(hops in car and speeds down a main road to reach one of the underground tunnels, but a cop stops him after going through 4 lights)

Cops: Hello, Mr. Bellic

Niko: Listen! About that fire alarm! I don't know who pulled it. I mean, i was, i was all the way on the other side of the city, so i coudln't possibly..

Cops: You ran 4 traffic lights!!!!

Niko: So? What's the problem?

Cops: That's a violation against Rockstars game elements Niko. I'm afraid im going to have to arrest you.

Niko: WTF? This isn't Drivers: Parallel Lines?

Cops: Tell that to the judge.

Other Cop: Um, there are no judges in this game.

Cops: Well tell that to personal tutorial trainer Dan Houser.

Dan: (talks to the player) Hi! I'm Dan Houser. Thank you for buying GTA4. But unfortunatelly, good games have to have some safe issues some times. Right? That's why we implemented laws in GTA4. You got it! No speeding, no running over pedestrians, no running through stop signs, or red lights. We want to keep the player safe from addapting these harsh elements in the real world. And since Rockstar became united with Jack Thompson, we've had a safer GTA, so we can make the player happy and make our Niko happy?

Niko: F*** YOU!!!

Dan: Remember! Run through a red light unjusted, and you'll get busted. HAHAHAHAHA

(Randomley dissapears)

Cops: That was justice. (arrests Niko)
