Gtapoptart
Hi, Jp245 and I are converting the GTA Vice City Rhino Tank to GTA San Andreas. So far the model is nearly done. Finally got wheels on! Thanks a lot to jp245 for adding wheels. We are also trying to make entering the tank like entering a normal car. (Opening the doors instead of Climbing through the top) But don't know if it will be included in the final release. The only problem now is that we can't get rid of those wheels in the middle. Any help would be much appreciated. EDIT - UPDATE!- Ok, well I've just came upon that In-Game there are 6 Wheels on each side. But, in the model/GGMM there are 3 on each side, and there are only supposed to be 6 wheels. (3 on each side) The wheels are also too skinny. But if we can get rid of the Extra wheels, we can go back to the original size. Help would be Much Appreciated! We Finally got it in-game and added lights, just the wheels are going to need fixing! H13N.H3N
Hi, I'm converting the GTA III and GTA Vice City Rhino Tank to GTA San Andreas. So far the model is nearly done, but i have yet to add the wheels in 3ds Max, I have no idea how to add them. Here is a pic from GGMM - Download Coming Soon! i see not much point in convert that thank, SA one is the coolest of the three, well anyway, if you are using KAMS, you should create a custom wheel, name it "wheel" and link it with the hierarchy view (Schematic View) link it to a parent Wheel dummie, that should work. Arvis
1. SA tank is a lot better, i don't see any good point converting this. 2. I think pic isn't needed, everyone have seen this tank and it's nothing special.
Claude GTA3
I happen to think GTA3/VC Tank is better than the SA tank.
pinky
I miss the old Rhino. Did you notice the vlo model on the new rhino is still from the old one though.
Picolini
I don't get these "conversion" topics. You can't just say "I'm converting this car from [GTA] to [another GTA]" and post pictures of it in GGMM. At least wait until you get it in game. If you need help with it, take it to the Editing Discussion area, most people in the Showroom won't be able to help you anyways. Sorry if I sound like an ass, but there's so many people that do this... What do you mean you don't know how to add the wheels? You just set them up the same as they were on the original SA Rhino, and it should work fine. I'm pretty sure you only set the wheel dummies for the front, middle, and rear, and put the wheel model under the wheel_rf_dummy, and the game takes car of the rest (making the vehicle have 6 wheels on each side). GTAfanattic
Is this yours or is it stolen again like my Copcar eh? I think you need to learn a bit more about conversions and how the hierarchies work in the SA game engine. You also don't seem to know what you're doing in Max either. Check the vehicle documentation in the Editing topic for more on hierarchies and such - if it isn't appearing in game, it sounds like your TXD file isn't using DXT compression. Gtapoptart
First Post updated! but we are having a problem with the wheels - they are bulging out, and there are more then we expected. Any help?
Supra4
Bulging out? You mean too wide? I can solve that in the handling file. Can't do anything about the amount of wheels tho EDIT : But if you're referring to the one that sticks out at the door, that'll just be a case of deleting the thing. Don't remember what it was like in GTA III and Vice Edited March 9, 2008 by Supra4
Gtapoptart
ok well, we have the wheels smaller, but it looks stupid in the back and in the front because they are too skinny, and not wide enough, what we need is- The Middle wheels skinny and The Front and Back wheels Wide. But we can't do it because SA reads just 1 wheel. Any Help? Edited March 9, 2008 by Gtapoptart
GamerShotgun
It looks even cooler than in Vice City :| Just a suggestion... Remove the two wheels from the middle... you don't really need them.

I know, we don't want them there. We don't know why they're there either! That is the problem, the wheels. Thanks btw

Supra4
I see you worked out the wheel width issue. Try changing one of the settings back, so we can see which of the middle wheels are actually front wheels in-game, and which are rear wheels. Perhaps that could help someone a bit further in solving the issue.

Yes, but the wheel that we are using in the model is the rf and SA copies that wheel to fit the rest of the dummies, but there is a problem, there are only 6 dummies, not 12! ...and we want the wheel's width to be just like they are in the pic on the first post, below the new one. once we get that, we can try deleting the Extra wheels. Timpo
does it have six wheels because it's hardcoded for the Rhino to have 6 wheels? in that case there isn't a lot you can do..
SLAYERMAGGOT
I love this fat tank from Vice City, but the original has 4 wheels. Six wheels? Two of them in the doors, that looks not good. I will to download this tank!!! When has you the Rhino finished?
