Ok if you think this isn't a good topic then by all means lock it.

Basicly if there is something you don't understand about the recent previews or something you are not to sure of just post it in here and we can all work it out.

Our demoer actually failed the mission initially and let Niko's target get away, allegedly to show off the game's nifty replay option which takes the form of a text to your cellphone.

I'm confused about this. What does it mean by text to your cellphone?

i take it you're confusing the word replay as a video replay of what you've done when actually they mean re-play... as in to re-play the mission...

i think it means that when you fail a mission you get a text saying,"Do you wish to replay this mission?"

hope that cleared things up.

''Polak''...Could that mean Niko is from Poland.(Kiziko)

They also say "Red Army" hinting more to Russia

Ah Christ

Worker: Yeah, he's around... Brucie! Some f*cking Polak asshole for you!

Niko: Pleasure to meet you too...

Brucie: [entering room] He's not a Polak, he's a gentleman.

You do know that they put that specific part of the dialog to EXPLICITLY tell you people once again that he's FROM EASTERN EUROPE, Balkans, that's how specific they'll get. They'll never name a country.

Yeah i think they will make loads of jokes where people will say he is Russian and then niko will begin to correct them with the real country he is from but get interupted by someone biggrin.gif

The sequence also showcased the games new aiming system which lets you juggle between a free aim and specific body part targeting. Pulling the trigger lets you free aim while holding it down lets you lock on and specifically target parts of their bodies.

What does this mean pulling the trigger? someone can explain? I'm holding the Xbox 360 controller right now and i cant pull the trigger button, only push

It doesnt mean literally pull its just an expression, as the 360s triggers are like on a gun, you dont push a guns trigger, you pull it, tounge.gif

to the toppic starter, the replay mission ability basically consists of a message being sent to niko's phone when a mission has been failed, most likely the message will read mission failed, would you like to replay mission, and simply have a yes/no option.

and with respect to the triggers, the PS3 and X-box360 controllers have trigger buttons that are far more sensitive than last gen controllers, on PS3 the L2/R2 buttons are much deeper and many driving games now use R2 as accelerate as it allows more control over your speed, the previewers stated that pull the trigger button in half way and you'll be in free aim mode, pull the trigger in fully and you'll continue from free aim mode to lock on mode, where niko automatically locks onto enemys, we can then move the right stick and choose where we want to shoot our enemys, ie. . . head, chest, leg.

its all quite simple to understand really

it was actual gameplay, from what i understood from the second they leave the bar the player is in control of niko, sounds pretty cool.

yea, should be fun, one of the previews even said that once niko made his way into the car roman fell flat on his back and passed out, whether we then have controll niko back out of the car and help roman into the car remains to be seen but it'd be a pretty cool feature i think.

GTA_Godfather

When the Niko's adversaries (enemies) call him a 'Polak', they are doing it derisively (making fun of him). It does NOT mean he's Polish. It's like they are calling him a moron or an idiot.

His enemies can obviously see from his facial features that he is of Eastern European or Russian ethnicity/descent, so this is partly why they chose the word "Polak". The could have called him a Pole (as Polish people like to be called), but they didn't. Polak has a negative connotation.

Oeh yeah!

That would be nice, like we have to Hack the system in a mini-game to delete it. biggrin.gif
