Widescreen issues

Recommended Posts

When I turned on the widescreen mode in VC, it seems like crosshair isn't pointing at the right position now, because when I shoot, I can see that it fires slightly higher and a bit to the right from where the crosshair is. Does anyone know how to fix that? It's really anoying. Oh, and I have that same issue on GTAIII, so it must be some game problem.

You have to adjust your monitor dude, it's an operator's problem, not the game.

That's why it happens with more than one game.

You most likely don't have a real wide screen.

It is a real widescreen, it even says that on the box. And that problem does't go on when I disable widescreen in the game.

And what do I have to adjust?

I was searching about this issue and found this post. I am having the same exact issue right now. I just did a fresh install of windows xp and installed GTA VC and noticed that if I aim directly at someones face or neck, the bullet misses and is actually shooting a bit higher and a bit to the right. I have never had this problem before using the same hardware. I have a ViewSonic VX2035wm (and yes, it's a real widescreen) and using a GeForce 7600GS 512MB. Another weird issue I also noticed is when I accelerate vehicles. I'll be at a dead stop, then give it gas, and the vehicle starts to hesitate and spasm for a few seconds and then it finally starts to raise up in RPM (Noticed this problems in the last 2 fresh installs of windows)

I've installed this game over and over with new installs of windows and never had either of these problems. Yes I format alot smile.gif

Here is a screenshot of the aiming issue. Please let me know if anyone knows of a solution to these problems. Thanks!

You have to delete [.set] file and turn on frame limiter.

And the screenshot where you didn't hit the man but the wall simply means you accidentally hit the wall, and then you quickly maneuvered your mouse to let the crosshair be on target towards the man.

No, it seems to be a bug related to widescreen mode, especially on the versions downloaded from Steam. A lot of people have all reported the same thing.

Ways of dealing with it are to try it without widescreen mode

Or to just get used to it and "aim off" by a certain amount so that you hit the target
