Is this really such a ridiculous suggestion?

Okay, I know I will probably get shot down for suggesting this, but, do you really think it is a ridiculous suggestion?

Do you think it is feasible for niko to be able to catch a train or plane (i said catch not fly) to los santos? I think it is a possibilty, rockstar games clearly have some secret that they are hiding... and when re-reading kikizo's second preview earlier, they actually suggested it, so it must seem plausible.

They said that when they were asked to leave the room (while the 360 was rebooted for their second run through) their sound recorders picked up some of the boot sequence and title screen, and then they go on to say:

But we bet there are some surprises in there too. How cool would it be to go see how CJ is getting on in next-gen Los Santos a decade later?
Link.

Probably a mad suggestion but a part of me believes that there is a slight chance, what do you think?

Just to clairify, do you mean just LS and not the rest of SA?

Yeah just LS, the whole of SA would be just too much. But since LS is based on LA, as someone on these forums was saying before, rockstar games has already modelled LA for the new midnight club so i think it is a possibility.

Hm. Perhaps like one or two missions could have you going to a certain part of LS I suppose, much like that mission in San Anderas where you go to Liberty City. I think including the entire thing as a playable area would be a bit much.

In SA, they already had a game to steal city parts from.

There's no way they're making a new city just for a few missions.

Besides, there's no story for this, IV is a restart of the franchise. In SA it was like 'oh nice, we get to revisit LC, good times' - now it'll be 'oh, okay, new city, why?'

As fun as it would be, it would just be for a mission, just like going back to Liberty from San Andreas.

I doubt we could at all though. They have already done it once. I think maybe in a later game, going back to the IV LC.

Hmmm maybe,Although it would seem to me that placing a city other than new york in the game would be way too much data.Maybe in the 360's DLC??

That would be F***In incredible!!!Like Grand Theft Auto IV wasnt already the greatest game ever. I agree though...If not that Rockstar has a couple amazing secrets up thier sleeves whether it be Children,Past cities,Pets,...its something.

Hey, I started the Los Santos thread about MC:LA. Thanks for pointing this out to me. Perhaps We will see Los Santos and Vice city as the downloadable content for X-Box. This way people would still be paying a pretty penny for it, but not too upset that they "borrowed" content fron the MC:LA game. I remember reading somewhere that each episodid content package will be about 50 dollars; about the price of a game, so this isn't such a bad idea, or too far fetched.

I would only like it if it was just for a mission, but for going back and fourth seems awkward.

That ad doesnt mean anything. It's just an ad for an airline. And since you cant fly, that's just a tease mad.gif.

You never know. Noone had any damn clue we'd be going to LC in SA. Even Claude was a huge suprise.

50 dollars? yeah where did you hear that. that's way too much for dlc, it would be the most expensive dlc pack ever for the 360 tounge.gif

5 dollars is more likely..

ha ha ha you think microsoft payed 50 mil so they can sell the DLC for 5$? it will probably be around the same price as the Halo 2 map pack which retailed at 40$. considering that they are probably not pressing it to disks like the Halo 2 map pack then the price will go down a bit but it will definitely be over 20$

Yeah I think that it is more of a possibility as a DLC pack, now that would really be worth downloading! Especially $50?! I mean if thats true then hell it had better be something good. I would say around $35 is a more realistic price, okay M$ paid 50 million but... $50 each??

I really doubt it will be that much. The Halo 3 map pack was under $20.

They paid $50 mill. because XBL will benefit in advertising etc. = a lot more than $50 mill. in their books over time.

If each DLC is a new city though, 50$ is a reasonable price. At least I would pay it. But I guess it all depends on what it is, for us to determine what it's worth. If it's only missions and some new cars and stuff, I would say no more than 25$. If it is new missions and a new portion of LC, it would be worth 30-40$. If it is a new city with new missions, it is worth almost the price of a new game.

As someone said before on the other post about MCLA, someone mentioned their displeasure of San Fiero. I'd like to aggree with that. I'd rather revisit a major overhauled San Fiero, than an already decent Las Santos.

It couldn't hurt to revisit LS in a mission or two though. Are we going after CJ or something? Hint hint.

I don't want GTA IV to have anything to do with Vice or San Andreas. I want to thear them mentioned ingame, but I really don't want to travel back there.

My theory is that they paid fifty mill for the delay. To avoid last gen's system seller GTA becoming

this generation's halo killer.

Expect to pay a pretty penny for the DLC, it is confirmed that it is NOT your average map or character

skin, it is all new content providing hours of gameplay.

If ANY system gets map add ons, it is the PS3, as was said by rockstar "PS3 will still be getting

DLC, but picture it more like islands that add on to the base city"

I predict many of these will be user made monocle.gif

Nah, I don't think so. He will be a friend if he returns. (before any asshole cries: VIRTUALLY no

returning characters MEANS "not many", not NONE. kthx) CJ was the most "stand up guy" out of

the protagonists in the 3 series (vic excluded //IF lcs vcs are not part of the gta3 series).

He was my favorite too, already being a huge Liotta fan (Liotta in WIld Hogs,

tears at the end, CLASSIC PRICELESS), but he was a dirty grimey little frog

stomper. He should be blown up in a scripted sequence. He deserves it, whether

I'd be the guy to do it or not wink.gif

For the same reason as no returning characters, no.

They would have to recreate the entire thing, and it would look different.

They cannot just "cut and paste" from previous games.

There are returning characters, but you didn't hear it from me. Virtually None does not mean

None, in fact, it means quite literally "Barely Any"

Answer the topic starter question, not at all. In GTASA you went to Liberty for a mission. It was a limited visit, but you actually went there anyway. Why not going to other cities (not necessarily LS, but any) to do the same?

Maybe they use this to give a hint about the next game... </FanboyMoment>

I started replying to this earlier but gave up as I sort of changed my mind half way through.

I would think that they won't reproduce a whole city or even a large area unless it were for a downloadable expansion pack. To be included in the normal game (as sold) I believe any trips to other locations would be confined to small areas like the Liberty visit was in SA. As far as I can tell the only point of that mission was to give a bit of nostalgia and something special to the fans. It was also good to see LC covered in snow. Marco's Bistro is sort of an icon in the series and I think a lot of fans enjoyed the chance to briefly go inside.

It's unlikely that they could do anything as nostalgic in IV as we haven't seen any other cities yet. They could just recreate a familiar area, such as Grove Street, in the new graphical style, but this would likely not fit with with R* plans if they intend IV to be a fresh start.

Anywhere they go would have to confine you to a restricted area such as an interior, but if that's all you get and it's something we haven't seen before then what's the point of going? It might just seem a bit gimmicky.

It might be good if they just showed us glimpses of other places without letting us go there. Maybe have news reports on a TV from VC or SA ("coming to you live from the red carpet in Vinewood"), or show previews inside a cinema and the movies were 'filmed' in another location. So we get to see what they look like, but not experience it ourselves until possible future games.

I think going to a new style previously used location would just seem odd if it is for just one mission. It would seem a bit forced. It seems more likely that they'd go to Niko's old country to resolve something that naturally evolves in the storyline.

I like this idea of just seeing images or videos in the game of old GTA places !!!!

That "Visit Vice City for $300" billboard has always interested me. I reckon Vice City will be used again sometime in the near future. It must be part of the GTA IV universe.

As for visiting LS... for a mission yeah I guess.
