Le_Joker
The fact that the city and characters (especially Niko) are not the stereotypical typecasts seen in most games nowadays. The gaming indstry has become overrun by juvenile hormonally imbalanced tough guy "BLOW EM' UP DUDE" big balls idiocy on one side, and hormonally imbalanced juvenile anime pedo garbage on the other. GTA IV presents an entirely more refined and sophisticated world view. I'm looking forward to everything that has been announced (and probably most of the things that aren't >.>), but I quoted this one for a special type of truth. In the past, the characters of GTA have been driven by stereotyping and archetyping. In GTAIV, the archetypes are driven by the characters. I haven't really seen or heard about a single character that isn't multi-dimensional in terms of character role and personality. (with the exception perhaps of McReary, whom unfortunately seems to be filling in the old role of corrupt cop ) III, VC and to some extent SA were modeled by movies and popular culture, and as a result every character had a fixed role. They appear in the frame of the protagonist's view, they do what they are meant to do, and they disappear. I think in this game, it will be less "everyone affects the protagonist" and more "everyone affects the antagonist who affects everyone who affects each other." Amirite? A.Bod
I'm really impressed with how similar the new Liberty City is compared to New York. There was a picture in one of the topics and it shows LC's Times Square mixed in with NY's Times Square. I couldnt really tell the difference, thats how realistic the graphics really are. chapman_bobby
I feel that the new level of detail added to the city will be one of my favorite parts of the game. I liked the detail Rockstar put in San Andreas and Bully and I'm looking forward to what will happen on a next gen game. Particularly one they spent so much time on. -Bobby
