Primer43
Hey, I'm looking for X-Fi drivers for my Fatal1ty sound blaster and I don't know where to find them. The only catch is that I am running Gentoo Linux. Anyone know where I can find some?
cold fusion 33
I'm sure one of the links on these pages will have the right drivers: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&sa=X&...drivers&spell=1 (I didn't post a direct download link to the drivers, because I don't know the exact one.) cold fusion 33
Ah yes, Linux. Just remembered that drivers are different for different OS's. God-damnit. Thanks for pointing out my mistake though
Fozzy Fozborne
Unless I'm missing something, they should be here. Just select "Linux" as your OS and download.
Primer43
Yeah, I checked out Creative's website, obviously. I could only find the 64 bit linux drivers. Which is a problem because I'm using 32bit Linux. This is also an issue with that driver, "This driver source will not compile with GCC version 4 and above." I was hoping someone knew of a third party beta driver or something.
Waste
Then you're pretty much out of luck. Creative is very selective on things they make drivers for. Third party software is hard to come by for these cards as well. You might get lucky and find a very basic driver for your card, but you will generally on have basic in/out capabilities. Primer43
Yeah, I figured that much. Oh, well, I guess I will just get a cheap sound card and throw it in there for my gentoo install. If anyone sees a driver pop up, let me know. Thanks, Primer

If it did, then grab the disc and insert it into the CD-ROM drive. "The End" You also might get some luck from the Creative Autoupdate service here -> http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/su.asp

I suggest you read up on Linux a bit, because you don't really just grab the disc and put it in...
Ring_of_Fire
Well, upgrade your Linux to 64-bit. I am sure there are other Linuxes that are better than Gentoo Linux?
Primer43
Well, upgrade your Linux to 64-bit. I am sure there are other Linuxes that are better than Gentoo Linux? I guess I could re-compile linux in 64bit, but that would give me other headaches... As far as linux goes, it doesn't matter what distro I have, linux is linux as far drivers go. Ring_of_Fire
Don't you want a 64-bit driver? If you are gaming in Windows already, I don't really mind people not having sound in Linux and MAC OS for that matter. If you were serious about Linux as well, you'd make sure already that the computer hardware is compatible with it. If not, then just stick to Windows. What you really want Linux for? Brutuz
Why go for x64 in Linux...? There's almost no x64 programs, and I can't remember if x64 Linux can emulate the x86 ones like Vista x64 can.

Yeah, that driver requires you to have gcc < 4.0 and I have gcc 4.0 At least it is 32bit, hopefully they will keep working on it, thanks for the link.
