Everyone needs to listen to Misanthropic Generation by Disfear, it's a f*cking awesome album with Tomas Lindberg from At The Gates on vocals.

Also, anyone heard Rob from The Transplants new band Death March? (Don't worry they're nothing like The Transplants, they're D-beat/Crust Punk!).

They're not bad!

Triple Penetration

^That was sarcasm?

Seriously, how can you even ask that, lol.

How much were the tickets? ph34r.gif

I never come here so I don't know if you guys know them.

But I just downloaded the "The Sufferer & The Witness" album after listening to 'Injection' (due to DiRT 2) for a long time.

I usually listen to rock and am not much of a hard/punk rock guy, but Rise Against is awesome smile.gif

I'm familiar with them as far as knowing of their existence, but nothing else. I think they're one of them bands, like Green Day, who's first couple of albums might have been Punk but then as soon as they gained mainstream success, completely changed their sound to appeal to a wider audience. I love Blink 182's first 3 or 4 albums, that's my guilty pleasure blush.gif

Anyway, this is the Punk thread, lets talk about proper Punk bands. For some reason I've never properly listened to Negative Approach, seminal Detroit Hardcore band from the 80's, they're doing a UK tour soon.

Lately I've been listening to Rise Against.

Anyone familiar with them?

Yeah, I prefer their older stuff, but still not a huge fan. Lately I've been more interested in One Man Army:

Shame they broke up. I really gotta stop getting into the bands that are done, haha. But I guess nowadays it's hard to find a punk band that's still putting sh*t out.

Oh aye, Choking Victim are brilliant. If you like them, check out Stza's other bands like Star f*cking Hipsters and Leftöver Crack. Or other Crack Rock Steady-esque bands like Morning Glory, The Infested, Officer Down and No Cash.

No Cash are pretty sick, only ever did one album and broke up, shame really.

Star f*cking Hipsters seem pretty good, not a huge fan of the female vocalist on some songs. Digging Leftover Crack, though.

The rest are okay, but thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely look some more into this genre.

I've been listening to lots of folk punk lately, always liked a bit of Mischief Brew and Andrew Jackson Jihad but over the past 8 months or so I've been listening to a lot of Pat The Bunny's bands like Johnny Hobo & The Freight Trains, Wingnut Dishwashers Union and Ramshackle Glory.

I love this band, never heard of them before until your post, don't like most punk, but these guys are just awesome.

Pat's voice when he's yellsinging makes me a bit jealous that I don't have the balls to do that (even in my own house).

And the songwriting is excellent (unlike most other punk bands).

Both great songs. I've heard a few other tunes from these guys in the past, and they seem pretty f*cking cool. Folk punk seems to have a tendency to be weird as sh*t, and that's exactly what I love about it.

I've just discovered an awesome band called Strike Anywhere, God knows how I haven't heard these before but I'm loving their album Change Is A Sound, so much energy.

How the f*ck have I managed to miss this thread? Man, I've got some reading to do! Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

Have recently discovered something cool though, sure you've all seen it but still. It appears the full discography of Minor Threat (the whole 45 minutes of it...) and multiple Dead Kennedys albums have been released on youtube. If you've never got a chance to listen to either of them, I highly recommend just going on youtube and searching for them.

Great band from the UK that deserves way more recognition than they have. Not the best quality, but worth the music. Classic punk rock.

Check out their Soundcloud too, they've got more stuff on there.

I've been listening a lot to The Ramones, Stooges, New York Dolls lately. Joey was f*cking brilliant and there never will be anyone like him. Bands that you listed like The Clash and Sex Pistols were highly influenced by the Ramones. They pretty much made this genre what it is.
