Holy sh*t, GBH have been added to the Rebellion website, I love that band. They're also playing some place in Manchester soon aswell, I'm gonna try and make that as they are meant to be a cracking live band.

I have some good gigs coming up, tomorrow Im at the Zounds alldayer, it looks brilliant. I'll probabally bump into Jacky Fiend aswell. I never went to this icon13.gif

Then I'm going to see Street Dogs again, I literally cant wait.

Then I have the Dropkick Murphys! Thats going to be insane.

And last but not least, Star f*cking Hipsters!

I recently acquired a copy of The Infested's Myths, Lies And Hypocrites album this weekend, if you like Leftöver Crack you will like these. They are UK based and are gigging all the time, I seen them at the Bolton Punx Picnic, what an epic weekend. I seen the Inner Terrestrials, Cress, The Infested, Global Parasite, 2 Sick Monkeys, Rasta4Eyes, John Player Specials, Luv Dump, Flat Back Four and loads others.

Here you go anyway, check out The Infested, the UK's Crack Rock Steadiest band lol.gif

The only american stuff I consider punk is the Ramones and iggy and the stooges. The rest I find is not only crap but not punk through my eyes.

True Punk is The Clash, the Sex pistols, The Skids, the Ramones, The Jam, 999, Stiff little Fingers, The Buzzcocks, Angelic upstarts, The Vibrators, the Damned, Generation X, The Members, The Ruts, The Stranglers, the undertones and probably ome more

Omnia sunt Communia

I just looked at my calender and realized that Rebellion is just over a month away! I need to start planning. The line-up isn't looking as good as it did last year though, so might spend a bit more time hanging out and seeing friends. I don't plan on paying to get in so it wont bother me as much this year if I don't see many bands.

Went to a rather good gig at the weekend. Saw Macka B (politically correct ragga/dancehall artist) along with Dead Subverts, 2 Sick Monkeys, Wonk Unit and Dirty Revolutions. Dirty Revolutions pulled out though because one of their band members got so drunk he couldn't stand up - let alone play his instrument!

I'm up in Manchester from Friday, so hopefully there'll be some good punk gigs on!

Been listening to some melodic D-beat lately. I've got to say out of all the genres that have become more melodic, D-beat is the most surprising to me.

I dunno how long you're in Manchester for but if you're here on the 27th get down to this:

I can't wait for Rebellion now, looking forward to seeing Discharge, GBH, Cro-Mags, Subhumans, Random Hand, Mouthwash, The Skints, The Restarts & The Dead Class more than anyone to be honest.

Damn it! I'm down from the 18th til the 27th. The day before I come down is a Power Is Poison gig and the day I leave is that ska gig you just posted, which I can't goto, because I'm leaving Manchester at 4:30. Hopefully there will be more good gigs on while I'm up!

If not, would be good to see you again and catch up Jake.

As for Rebellion I'm most looking forward to seeing The Oppressed, Los Fastidos, The Filaments and Casual Terrorist.

Los Fastidios were brilliant last year, as for The Oppressed, I don't really like them. Totally forgot about the Filaments, I love that band.

Power is Poison looks good because I know the members of Luv Dump & John Player Specials, they're both awesome and good to have a session with after the gig Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

I've just looked on the Punkgigs Inmanchester & SLit Records & Promotions Facebook pages and there doesent actually seem to be much on sad.gif Which is rare for Manchester as its got such a big Punk/Ska scene. It has been jam packed the last couple of weeks though.

Also, Steve ignorant and Penny Rimbaud are going to be at Rebellion, not performing but just talking and sh*t at the new literary festival on August 7th.

Edit: Might aswell post a song smile.gif

I was supposed to goto Bradford last night to watch Power Is Poison, Autonomads and War Coma but ended up going to a student rock club night instead, haha! Did you go Jake? Was it any good?

I've been getting into some melodic hardcore lately. If someone had told me two years ago that I'd listening to this stuff I'd have called them crazy. Or maybe told them to go f*ck themself.

Anyone else like this stuff?

Jacky: Nah, i'm afraid not, me and my mate was going to travel up with the John Player Specials cos we're good mates with them, but there wasnt enough space in the car...and im too skint to get there, haha. Seemed like a good, free gig aswell. sad.gif

ass reamer: Damn, the Shook Ones are pretty awesome, just like Jesus'En'Hitler420 mentioned, the vocalist kinda reminds me a little of Stza Crack.

The other one made me want to get up and smash things....which is always evidence of good Hardcore.

I cant seem to stop listening to This band, The Infested. They're insane, did a lot of promotional work with Stza Crack, said to be the UK's Crack Rock Steadiest band lol.gif

Have some random Disorder.

Been listening to sh*tloads of Amebix of late:

Second only to Oi Polloi in the anarcho scene imo.

I love Amebix, and Oi Polloi. I was gutted when Amebix pulled out of Rebellion last year - only to be replaced by The Last Resort! That's not what the flocks of crusties and anarcho-punks who went to see Amebix were expecting to see; a bunch of SHARP skinheads. Haha.

I saw Oi Polloi last year in Manchester. Probably one of the best gigs in my life. Oi Polloi are such an amazing band, I cannot wait to see them again. Sadly they don't like playing down south too often. sad.gif

Going to represent my local scene here. Spanner are one of the best ska punk bands in the southwest! Anyway who enjoys ska punk or anarcho should defiantly check them out:

I'm a SHARP and I get along with punks hunky-dorey - only trouble I ever get is when I'm in Edinburgh or down south where folk are less enlightened about SHARP, so I get mistook for a fash sometimes. You'd think the Antifa and crossed-out Swazi patches would send a message, but it still doesnae penetrate some all skulls. tounge.gif The only skinheads I've ever met who have a disdain for punks tend to be older ones who don't listen to anything unless it's from Trojan.

Last Oi Polloi gig I was at they were giving out whiskey. I've also been to an afterparty at Ruairdih's flat in Edinburgh. They're a sound bunch of lads.

Just found out The Faintest Idea are playing Bristol next month. They're defiantly one of my favourite ska punk bands! Been looking forward to seeing them play ever since I started getting into their music after getting a free CD off them at Rebellion last year. Here they are playing my old hometown two years ago (before I even knew they existed):

DK was undoubtedly the best thing to come out of 80s American punk. A lot of the other bands seemed to forget about the music, and they didn't.

I picked up a couple of albums no too long ago:

user posted image

Cruifix is out of early California hardcore, but they sound more like UK-anarcho peach punk. I believe this record is circa 1983. I do know that this album was recroded at Corpus Christie Records; which was founded by some of the members of Crass.

This is pretty much JFA's discography. The first six tracks are the Blantant Localism EP which is the record that got me into punk when i was about 14 years old.

Fleas and Lice is a Dutch Crust punk band, I picked up their Global Destruction LP off eBay.

i finally got my hands on this compilation, it's super super early Boston scene hardcore, I think it's like circa 1980.

f*ck yeah! Not long left now til Rebellion festival in Blackpool, the biggest Punk Rock festival in the world. 4 days of awesome Punk Rock, getting wrecked and general debauchery.

All the times for the bands can be found here, so im sorting out who is clashing with who and who I would rather see.

Anyways, I cant wait to see Discharge

Whack the volume up on that bad boy!

EDIT: Who's going Rebellion?

Discharge is a different band without Cal on vocals. To me it's like seeing The Germs without Darby Crash, or The Murder Junkies without GG Allin, what's the f*cking point?
