I'll be watching them at Rebellion, that's for sure. I'm not that big a fan though there isn't much else going on at that time. I really like their songs "Hang The Landlord" and "Boulder". Though I think their 'song', "What If Punk Never Happened?" is just a massive namedropping session where they name every punk band they've ever heard of in hopes of gaining some punk points. Sad really.

I'm tempted to go see Goldie Lookin' Chain at Rebellion. Really, really tempted. tounge.gif

That all said I do live in the DC area so that might have something to do with why all my friends are so nuts for them.

You on the VA or MD side? I live about 25 miles south of DC in Stafford, VA. Although other than Magrudergrind and a handful of a few crust bands, I've got no idea what's going on in the DC scene. I usually go to Richmond for shows.

For the record, I don't like Fugazi at all.

I haven't heard much of Star f*cking hipsters tbh, I think I'll end up watching them at Rebellion, depending on who they clash with. I'll definately be watching Left over crack.

lol, I was in my attic the other day and guess what I found, soem LPs that I used to listen to when I was like 6, one of them was Valley of the dolls (limited edition) by Generation X and Give 'em enough rope by The Clash. Trouble is, some moron got rid of the record player. Records have such better quality its unbelievable.

Im going to some local punk gig in a bar on 21st & 22nd August, theres a few local punk bands playing and a few ska bands. Some of the bands are awesome.

ass reamer: Did you manage to read that American hardcore? if so, is it worth a read?

I'd say it's worth a read. I've got a feeling that a lot of the first-hand accounts in the book are sensationalized, but it's interesting nonetheless.

ass reamer: I think I'll end up getting American Hardcore, seems interesting; but I can see it droning on about Minor threat and the straight edge movement sneaky2.gif Apart from that, Im looking forward to the read.

lol, just found this 'misheard lyrics' gem for Complete control. Funny as hell.

I feel like posting a song. Anyone heard of I Spy? Short-lived but great Canadian punk band. Lyrics to this song are really good.

Dude, you should have been there for Agnostic front, I sprained my ankle, how hardcore. [/sarcasm]

Seriously though, Im in so much pain from the skanking/moshing.

Star f*cking hipsters were brilliant, definately gonna listen to more of them. The Adicts are now the single best band I have ever seen live, they were absolutely brilliant.

I watched several bands I have never heard of who were brilliant, such as Geofrey Oicott, Badtown, Guns on the roof & Radio dead ones.

The Agnostic front were awesome, but I felt that their set was rather short, which was a dissapointment, however, if I stayed in there for another minuite I might not be writing this lol.gif

Anyone going to the Blink concert in Pittsburgh?

I doubt the regulars of this thread would even consider that, to be honest.

been listening to a lot of Guns on the roof, a band I watched at Rebellion, they're epic, check them out: http://www.myspace.com/gunsontheroofuk

I've also been listening to the re recording of Songs of praise, I must admit, its just as good as the original.

I live near Pittsburgh, though I'd rather be shot.. also everytime I hear rednecks go on about the f*cking Steelers I also want to be shot. I'm sure those are the people who will be there which tickles me ever so gently, and gives me another reason to dislike the locals.

I saw a band in the World Famous Entry where the lead singer performed nude. I was surprised they gave Jim Morrison a hard time! haha

Actually, I was pretty pissed when I found out that Blink 182 was playing a free show/sh*tty festival thing near DC this month but it had already sold out. I'd definitely go see Blink, but I think the most I'd pay for tickets maxes out at about $15. I'd also have to factor in the type of people who would be there against the amount of alcohol I'd have to drink to put up with them.

Blink, much like the Offspring, hold a lot of nostalgic value for me.

I loved them as a kid, I much like their earlier work though. But yeah, if they were playing a cheap/free show I'd see them.

I wish it was this time last week sad.gif or next August smile.gif I think Cock Sparrer are allready confirmed, should be brilliant.

I've got quite a few gigs lined up over the coming months. I'm seeing Leftover Crack again next week (supported by Dead Subverts) and then Plymouth Punx Picnic is a week after that (headlined by The Restarts and The Bus Station Loonies with Autonomads and Eastfield). In October I'm seeing Peter & The Test Tube Babies at home in Swindon (along with Charred Hearts, 2 Sick Monkeys, Something More Grotesque and Paul Carter) and then later on down the line I'm seeing Lost Cherrees (with support from Charred Hearts). Probably see a few others in and between, but that's the plan so far!

Punk topic on page two icon13.gif

Just found this, I found it quite funny.

Not so long ago I ended up going to some Punk weekender at a bar in town, seen some good bands there such as Geoffrey Oi!Cott, Peter Bentham & The Dinner ladies, Flat Back Fout, The C.R.U.X, Rast4eyes & John Player Specials (ska) and The Distrakted. All of which are pretty well know in the Manchester/North west England scene.

Stiff Little Fingers in october, Goldblade in November, thats pretty much it for me untill I get my act together.

But we all know Star f*cking hipsters are the best on that scene right now =P

Hey guys, noticed a lack of activity in this thread, just bumping it.

I've been listening to a lot of the Street Dogs after seeing them live back in October, brilliant show, they raised the roof. Also, the gig was on Halloween, so they opened with Halloween from the Misfits.

One of the highlights of the gig was the fact that they played some Slapshot, classic Boston hardcore at its best, the pit was insane. Definately going to catch these on their next tour.

Should be getting my ticket for Rebellion soon, this years was insane, cracking weekend so I really cannot wait for August. They're constantly updating the line up, which can be viewed here. Holy sh*t, Discharge and The Oppressed are confirmed.
