Groovy 15
Yeah, DRI's some good sh*t. Why the f*ck were they on the Hot Topic stage at Hellfest though? sh*t makes no sense. Motherf*ckers gotta eat(and pay medical bills)
XN22 3
Oh no doubt, but isn't hardcore punk like, the complete opposite of Hot Topic?
Groovy 15
Oh no doubt, but isn't hardcore punk like, the complete opposite of Hot Topic? Of course. Dumbassery would be my best bet for them playing on a Hot topic stage. Though, I do find me some nice T shirts in there from time to time.
XN22 3
Likewise, they have some nice LPs. But f*ck them.
grow 0
please, wtf jello biafra has to do with this punk thread? i understand that he is punk vocalist, and spoken word and sh*t, but does it matter what sh*t they do or are they commercial or not if their music is good? i like dead kennedys very much, but i don't care what jello or klaus did
Typhus 1,431
Ah, punk. Remember when music still had some spectacle to it? When people would genuinely shock you with their antics? You see, that's how I view the classic punk scene. All style, no substance. Granted, the Sex Pistols were very good but what it boils down to is all-show-no-go-syndrome. There's nothing wrong with that, hell, that kind of thing makes the music world great. But I don't think that these punk icons should all be worshipped.
InfinityWilco 0
I'm not so much into just straight punk as I am hardcore, which derived from punk. And also metalcore. I love bands like.. These Days The Betrayed Integrity Terror First Blood Recon XTyrantX Armed For Battle Emmure Fatality Madball Death Before Dishonor Blood For Blood Furious Styles Fight Like Hell. CDC Barricade Strength For A Reason. The list goes on...man I love music..
bagga rabbit 8
I always thought ATTITUDE was the important thing with punk. The music was a means to be heard. Edited February 17, 2008 by bagga rabbit
ass reamer 1
For f*ck's sake, punk is a genre of music, not a f*cking fashion statement, not a f*cking attitude, just music. The ones who think its about fashion or attitude are complete f*cking posers. Ask any real punk what punk is about, and he'll tell you its the music.

ISd3d 0
Punk is about telling your school teacher to go f*ck himself. That's what comes to mind when I think Punk. Not clothes. And it definitely is an attitude.

Let me be the first one to come in here and say that only bitch ass wannabes actually label. Do whatever you want to do, listen to whatever want to listen to. And if punk is only about the music, and since the Dead Kennedys are some of the best punk around, you should stop worrying about what Jello does in his free time. You want to be "tr00" punk bro? Buy yourself a guitar and only listen to punk songs made up by yourself and shut the f*ck up.
