Yup, there was BNP guys in town a few weeks ago, some tosser come up to me on my lunch break and shoved this leaflet in my face and asked me "Do you love your country?" I just ignored him and walked away, it was sad to see people buying into it though.

I've been listening to alot of Ska/2tone recently, I've actually got into bad manners again, Buster is weird as hell, but just brilliant, proper skinhead right there, Buster f*cking bloodvessle.

infact, I'll throw a bit of Bad Manners in here.

You wouldn't be the first punk to take the leap, You already love Sham so your half way there tounge.gif

Not too mention a horde of ska, 2-tone, reggae and dancehall music. I listen to quite a few Oi! bands as well - but I'm too caught up in my left-wing politics and horror themes to really get into it. tounge.gif

Haha, that's no excuse. I was a member of the Swedish Communist party's youth organization when i first shaved my head, although that was a couple of years ago. I usually try to keep my politics to myself these days though, i hate people who label them self's as WP skins, sharp skins, Red Skins, Rash skins (or even Gash ph34r.gif ) Just don't see the point in mixing the skinhead cult with other things, that's up to each individual and has nothing to do with the skinhead culture or way of life.

@Proxy: I think we should change the topic to the Punk and 2tone topic or something like that considering how much it gets taken up in this thread. I'm pretty much okay with it since im a big fan.

oh, and if anyone wants the spirit of 69, PM me wink.gif

Aye, theres nothing worse than all these skinhead sub groups, like all that S.H.A.R.P bollocks, Skinheads against racial prejudice, what a bunch of crap, why dont they just act like a normal skin head and dont bother about the morons that put a bad name on the skin head culture, then all will be fine, you cant watch a good Oi! video on youtube without people shouting "White power" & people responding with "f*ck you, stay S.H.A.R.P", I just tend to leave the children to argue, that is partly the reason why I never comment on videos.

Yeah, it's like they feel like they have to go around telling everyone/apologizing to everyone because of the way they look. For me provoking is a part of being a skinhead, I don't give f*ck what others think, my mates know I'm not Racist and that's good enough for me. If others don't see me that way it's a bonus but i ain't going to go around town dressed as a Christmas tree with S.H.A.R.P patches to show my political stance. That's just plain embarrassing. I think everyone would do the cult a favor by keeping the politics to themselfs.

Same can be said about musical preferences. There's no different to people putting their political ideaologies on display to wearing a band t-shirt.

I've had the latest Propagandhi album on repeat in my car CD player for the last week or so. It's really got into my head, bloody brilliant it is.

They're another sh*tty modern hardcore band in the vein of Madball and Have Heart. I'll be seeing them by default on June 12th when I go see Leftover Crack. I'm not excited about having to hang around all the br00tal new hardcore douchebags.

Saw The Freeze about a month ago (I know late update) but I haven't had internet access due to me moving.

I love going to see old hardcore bands like them cause there is always people my parents age telling me sh*t like "I saw The Freeze, SS Decontrol, and DYS play at a matinee back in '83!"

I listened to it earlier today. I was unimpressed, but it's pretty standard fare for Rancid. I only like a handful of their songs, mostly from Out Come the Wolves and prior, and their new album just sounds like a slower rehashing of Indestructible.

THEIR NOT PUNK!!!! Lol, I have to admit to liking a few of their songs, though.

Pretty boring around here the only music thats local to my location is some sh*tty Deathcore and Metalcore bands that play at a coffee house here. Guess I'll be waiting on Behind Enemy Lines playing in Pittsburgh or hope something good rolls by there (which almost never happens, atleast in regard to Punk Rock we get some okay Metal bands though.)

English Subhumans or Canadian Subhumans? If it's the English Subhumans, defiantly go! The Canadian ones aren't that good, in my opinion. Though Subhumans are brilliant. Always put on a great show and Dick Lucas is full of energy everytime.

English one of course, f*ck Canada. Imperial Leather are supporting them as well, checked them up on myspace and they seem pretty decent.

Why do you write Subhumans like that? dontgetit.gif

And it's not The Beat who sing Skinhead Moonstomp, it's Symarip.

I think he meant moon stompin' as in dancing to ska. And "SUB HUM ANS" is how they write it out on the logo.

I've been listening to a bit of Leftover Crack, as of late. I never use to like them because my friend would go on about them pretty much non-stop and it really got on my nerves. Now that he's out of the picture though (disowned, not dead) I've started listening to them.

I like some of their songs, they're not bad. I like their more death metal influenced songs more. Though their ska influenced stuff is rad too.

What do people think of bands like Team Spider? No Cash? Choking Victim? The so-called "crackrocksteady" bands (I think that's what they're calling themselves these days).

I've been listening to Leftover Crack and Choking Victim too, lately. I'm not afraid to admit that I like ska-influenced punk. I like Stza's politics though some of the lyrics are a little juvenile occasionally. Still I dig those bands overall and it's fun music.

This is a great album I just got the other day. First album Jello Biafra did after the Dead Kennedys broke up I think

I take it you mean Anal Cunt? Aren't they the band that people just listen to because of the song names?

I cannot stand Grindcore, personally. I know a lot of people who are into it because their is quite a large crossover between Crust and Grindcore (the latter being a deritive of the former) but I could never get into it. What I really can't stand though is modern day Grindcore, which is basically a load of scene kids squeling into a microphone without making any sense whatsoever.

Ska-influenced punk and Ska Punk in general is good music. Though most people listen to bands like Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake and nothing else. I think those bands are some of the worse Ska Punk bands out there (if you can call them that).

Leftover Crack's lyrics were one of the things that drove me away from them in the first place. Sometimes their lyrics can be a bit ambigious and juvenile, with the song being nothing but being a big "F*CK YOU!" to whatever form of government they're pissed off with at the moment.

Still, they're pretty good. I'm thinking of getting some of their albums soon.
