GamerShotgun
Hey there! I've got a small problem with converting SA cars to vc... The thing is that, when i convert a car to Vice City, the headlights on the car has a greenish and yellowish tint. Is there a way to fix this, without remapping the headlight textures? Because i'm not really in to texturing! Any help would be appreciated! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/307780-sa-to-vc-vehicle-conversion/ Share on other sites
GTAfanattic
The colour tint you mention is due to the fact that San Andreas' car headlights use a color diffuse to highlight which light is which on the car, so that they light up at night. This is similar to the way that, in all (3D) GTAs so far, all car models have a primary color diffuse of green, and their secondary color set to a pink/purple. Making the assumption that you have vague experience with a 3d modelling program, you need to individually select each of the lights on the car (front right, front left, rear left & rear right) and set them so that they have no diffused color - in 3ds max I think it's as simple as checking a box. Luckily you wan't need to do any texturing! Check the screen - I've selected the polygons of the front left headlight on my Taxi model, then gone into the Material Editor (M), then pressed get (G) and selected Use Selected. Then I've scrolled down the avialable materials list to find the color of my light, then clicked the Other Default button - hope this works for you!
