Steve Crook
You know how sometimes there can be some debris left on the road from a crash and if you hit that debris, even if it's so small you can hardly see it, then your car will still bounce quite violently over it? Well there seemed to be that, or something similar happening with a police bribe for me - but it wouldn't go away like debris does. It's the bribe just north of the Malibu Club, the one between the trees on that little peninsula of grassland if you're driving north from the club, where you double back to the left if you want to go to the Pizza Parlour. It's a nice easy one to pick up as it's close to the main route like that and it's on a handy cut-through even if you don't want the bribe but want to cut that corner. I was driving quite fast one time when I went to pick it up and the car seemed to hit something very solid and did a flip up in the air and went over backwards! How odd, I thought I thought it was just a piece of debris or something. But it wasn't going away. When I tried to pick up the bribe some time later the car again seemed to hit something quite big and very solid. And no, I didn't hit the trees either side of it. So I went to investigate it. I took a good look around that area and there's nothing unusual to be seen. Just the bribe, slowly rotating. But when I drove up to it slowly the car gave a little jump but then got stuck! Right there in that little patch of grass. As I tried to drive it away (forward, reverse, turning left & right) the car didn't move but bits started to fall off it and it eventually started to smoke! It was really stuck. I got out but I couldn't move the car by pushing it. When I investigated it on foot (after the car that was stuck there had disappeared) I found that I could walk through the edges of the bribe but I couldn't walk through the centre of it. It was like it was stuck on an invisible, very short pole. Maybe that's why the car jumped. It hopped onto the pole and was then stuck there. And why when I hit it at speed it flipped me over backwards. But as I could walk through the edge of it I figured that I could use it as a bribe. So I went and shot a passing policeman, as you do, to earn a couple of wanted stars and then walked (or ran) through the edge of the bribe. Sure enough it erased a wanted star and the bribe vanished. I drove around North Point Mall until the other wanted star had gone and there was time for the bribe to regenerate and took another look at it - and I can now walk, and drive, through it without any problems. How very odd Has anyone else ever had that happen? Steve
