beanmachine43
Funny how an Army soldier arrived on the scene. I'm betting the developers of AA are smiling their asses off reading this story.
manofpeace
Player of America's Army Woah, woah, woah, stop right there! People play that game? And what he did was really basic. Put a towel on a bleeding hand and raise it. Pretty elementary. Hell, I learned stuff like that from ATHF. But kinda cool, I guess. it would be more awesome if he saved someone who had shrapnel in their neck and was going into seizures.
Saget
How cute x) I didn't know America's Army taught you all of that. It's good that he had the guts to use something he learnt in a game in a real situation, and was kind enough to help others. |DeviantArt|Flickr|YouTube|#amf|

Oblivionz
Ironic, I was just re-downloading this game since I had all the training done and sh*t.

Taste Of Chaos
I hate stuff like that...Like those flight simulator lessons when it keeps taking control of yourplane and says "Todd is flying the plane for you at the moment." and your sitting there like f*ck off! Iminicus
Pretty awesome. Kiss that jack thompson! lol, exactly what I was going to say. You two give to much power to the words and actions of Jack Thompson. Instead of bringing him into any game related news, you would be better of just to ignore him. You only give him more cause to attack us in some manner. On topic: Pretty wicked. I am not surprised that AA has taught such a skill to someone. If we all ignore him he'll have no power. I so did not steal that idea from another forum member.

Cursed
I learnt how to jack cars and shoot people from Grand Theft Auto, isn't that enough. When I first saw the topic and saw it was posted by Isara I thought it was going to be something to do with GTAforums raising money that saved somebodies life :S. Maybe one day. Don't agrue with Imi, you'll only wake up down a dark alleyway clutching a bottle of Viagra pills, and with a sore groin. This is pretty cool though. Iminicus
Pretty cool story, I guess you can learn quite a bit from a video game. Not to be a prick. Just a shame you haven't learnt correct English and grammar. I'm sure I have heard of other cases of Gamers saving lives due to learning something from the video game. Maybe it is all in my imagination in my perfect world where I have infinite lives.
nabo45
Hehe so this is where the world is headed? Leaning medical stuff in video games. Good story none the less .
Hayden Stasven
I hope this doesn't encourage others to do the same. Many people die or have their wounds worsened due to untrained bystanders attempting medical assistance such as CPR.
Mr. Campbell
Thats a nice story, playing assassins creed learned me to ride a horse and kill 30 people in a sword fight im sure that will come in handy sometime

OysterBarron
It just shows the other side of video games, But you will never here this on BBC news 24 there to busy repoting about everything bad videogames has to offer. I know GTA has always had bad rep but its better to exspose these sorts of crimes than it is to rap your kids up in a pillow and pretend that the world is made out of nice and soft marshmallows, Better to be prepaired than un prepaired
Moonshield
Once I was able to surgically remove a large growth from the neck of a homeless man who collapsed on the street. Thanks Trauma Center for the DS!

VCHolmes
Interesting read. Kudos to the gamer. Although, it would be safer if a properly trained person performed first-aid.
