Bates_GTA
I agree with what you say, I would love to go by the rules & make the whole experience a lot more realistic, that would be amazing. Of corse you still want to drive fast but maybe keeping to the right side of the road & stopping at traffic lights, obviously you would find it frustrating if you skip a red light you get the cops are on your a** all the time it would be rubbish, but maybe if it downgraded your license if you were to have one or something minor like that. Also when you crash on the other series of games the cars always somehow maintain a stupid amount of damage if this was corrected to look more realistic it would be brilliant aswel
Le_Joker
... Y'know, I feel like I've seen this thread somewhere before. Or maybe that's just because we've already talked about it a million times Also, on a side-note... Traffic laws = too much realism = failure. ... TC reminds me of Hazerblade. Remember Hazerblade? Yeah, hopefully he'll get the banhammer soon. I've seen some of the other topics he's made, but I felt it was only fair to let them die.

ceedot
Why not add real time? And having to watch Niko cook the food to eat, watch him sleep, and you can't skip it! Eating food with a fork and knife and taking time. How about going to the toilet every so often. Maybe we should die after 1 shot? Maybe we should go to the hospital after being shot and watching the surgery. How about crashing and not being able to escape the car? How about ageing over time? Maybe we can get diseases. How about getting a real job in the game, and not skipping that! That is realism. Stupid for a game. I give this one a: FAIL. Carbine23
Do you think that if you wanted to you would be able to be a respected citizen this time around? I mean like be able to drive good, and follow the laws. If the previous GTA's you could not drive like everyone else, and the cars speeds and turns and stuff like that were unrealistic. I mean if you accelerated even really slow you would burn out, or if you hit the brakes a little you would burn out. I hated it, and when you turned no matter how slow/ fast you were going your tires would squeal. I think it would be nice to be able to drive like everyone else, and not be a maniac all the time. And I would like to see a brake button, a E-brake button, and a gas button. Like you would have to, lets say push the right bumper to put it into reverse. I would always try to drive slow and stop at red lights and stuff like that. (not all the time.) But it was to hard and fusterating. I really hope they really focused a lot on the driving. Now I want to hear eveyones input. No. Just no. GTA isn't about "Ultra" realistic realism. If you want to be a good citizen, then you can at least follow the traffic laws. I did it in the past games (mainly GTA3) to get a feel for the city, which never happened. And since we're getting so much life and wonderful things out of Liberty City in GTA4, i'm sure pretending to be a releastic driver and stopping at traffic lights will be even better, since the city is going to be so realistic. Macauley
The part on traffic that I want to really have is civilian cars driving at proper speeds, not so slow so you can sprint after them to jack them. Also fast enough so that crossing the street is no easy action, nor safe. Getting hit by a car shouldn't be something you could walk away from. A good 50 hm/h is a good civilian speed in a dense area, 100km/h on high ways would be good too. Not only would it be realistic, it would be a challenge. It may take a while to gain the skill of driving in a city, just like real life. No cake. The cake is a lie!

mcgriz
I'm sure driving will be more natural and if you put the effort in it wasn't too hard to drive normally in the old games (tyre screech and burnouts were just standard features on accel. decel.). However there was a handbrake (sorry, e-brake <- stupid) in the previous games.
RandomLoser
You guys who are dissing the OP are scum. If you disagree with him, either just say so in a civilized manner of leave the thread instead of insulting him. What the hell is this?
MindCorrupt
I like the idea. I liked Mafia in that sense that you drove around like a normal citizen, keeping a low profile almost. But I suppose in that game you got speeding tickets and got chased by cops for running red lights. But still, I see where youre coming from. ps - shut the f*ck up with the fail pictures and go swollow some batterys.
ryuclan
Niko will never be a respected citizen so driving will be hectic and fast. Anyway I have a 360 and the controllers have no pressure sensitivity whatsoever so going slow will be a chore. I don't want to go slow anyway, why the hell would I do that. Note: Brittney Spears pic is hilarious...Classic

Now your just being a tw*t, he didn't say that he wanted proper road laws like, drive over 40mph in a 40mph zone you will get pulled over and sh*t like that. He said he wants to be able to drive normal (normal speed and sensibly) and make that possible by having good driving AI for drivers, so that all cars drive normally and indicate if they want to change lane on a freeway and don't smash into you when you stop at the red lights. Also before you say GTA aint about driving normal and doing normal sh*t, people like to drive normal sometimes and not be a maniac all the time. It was a litte annoying though & your right you definitly couldnt do it as easy as other people or like in real life. Im almost positive rockstar will tweak the driving to be better. Its a fresh start for the series & they'll want to make everything better.
