Loman
I just found some great reflection maps here and made #4 into a reflection map for San Andreas: (Click the pics for the full-size versions) It looks pretty much like the default reflection, but with more detail. Some people might like it. The textures were originally 5000x5000px, but I resized them to 1024x1024 (which is still quite large for a San Andreas texture), they're almost 1mb each. Here is the original resized: It should replace "vehicleenvmap128". Here is the San Andreas reflection that I created from the above picture: Which should replace "xvehicleenv128". Just replace the textures in models/generic/vehicles.txd using TXD Workshop. Also, I created a high resolution cloud texture with some photoshop brushes, I think it looks pretty good: Here is the texture download: Make sure to get the full size, because it needs the alpha channel, you might not be able to see it when you click it because it is white-on-white. I have it replacing both "cloudhigh" and "cloudmasked" in models/particle.txd
RoxRox
That's actually some great 2D work. I like the idea of improving the proper scrolling reflection instead of using the spherical maps that are glitchy and ugly. Good work... and thanks for the link *nabs those env maps*. Loman
Thanks, I found that link by doing a Google Image Search for "reflection map" and having it show "only extra large images". These textures cause surprisingly little slowdown on my mediocre PC, If anyone is having problems I could release smaller versions. In fact, I might make a few different sizes and upload them to gtagarage anyway. I've also made 1024x1024 textures for "waterwake", the moon, and blood that look decent. I did "coronastar" with a picture of the sun but you still can't really make any detail out, so it's not really worth installing unless you want yellow stars instead of white. I'm still working on getting the water surface texture and the seabed to look right, I expect to release some more soon.
