As some of you may know and some of you may not, there are a lot of "illiterate noobs" on WLM who have managed to get the "malicious sh*t". It automatically sends the message and tries to send the file to you when they either log onto the Messenger network or if they decide to say something to you. Here is an image of what I mean. Usually the message and file name varies a lot. You're probably wondering why I am calling them computer illiterate people; they cannot be bothered to buy or even download anti-virus software, they believe the person who sends the automated message and decides to run the file inside. What it usually is: Most of the time it is a message with the subject of a picture on Myspace or Facebook which is written differently to the way the person usually chats to you; a zip file containing either an .exe, a .bat or a .com (command, not the domain). Sorry if there's spelling mistakes etc. but I'm in a hurry to watch The Simpsons. Also the worm is self-replicating and takes a long time to get rid of. My God, I have never seen anything so horrible. And then there is the protocol! Looking for alternatives? I don't know, you could Trillian, but that is fugly. Pidgin is the only decent client.
