l3mmy
Ok, So i leave School Soon, Yeah..Can't wait. I have Two Job offers down with my dad (200 Miles from where i am now and 200 Miles from all my mates) One is working with my dad..(He Runs a Bus company - Regal Busways) The other is a Job i like doing with Computers but i'm not sure if i want to take it Mainly because of how far from home it is, Then there's leaving all the relatives here when i move... Also, my nan (Who is living down with my dad due to illness) is kinda pressuring me into taking the Job i would like I just don't see myself working there in 5 or 6 years Time What would you do? Waddy
My advice would be to go and work for you're Dad, They dont always work trust me on that but its s start, you can do that and earn a wage, have money in you're pocket...Then you can search for something else to do if you dont like it. The key is to start earning, get on the ladder.
Gouveia
Waddy said it all. The important is to get some money to start your life. Then you can move to another job if you want. Just try to get something to live untill there
Rebel
Its not like you have to stick with that job forever if you take the one with your dad. You'll be making money if you work with him and you can find out what you want to do during that time. Nobody ever really sees themselves working in the same job for 5 or 6 years. bagga rabbit
I guess you're a bit young to be out on your own so yeah..I'd say take the job with your Dad's company for now. See how things go.
TenaciousD.
Youre unsure about going to work with your Dad because its 200 miles away from all your mates? WEll if you're leaving school you'd end up drifting away from then anyway.
l3mmy
It's not my mates, It's mainly leaving my other relatives and my mum (Since i've lived with her all my life)
Girish
It's not my mates, It's mainly leaving my other relatives and my mum (Since i've lived with her all my life) You have to make compromises if you intend to move up the ladder of life. Your mum would want you to do the same too. You've a lot of life left to catch on with whatever you may miss during this period.

dills
You still get EMA for college aswell thats £30 a week £30 is the maximum amount you can get. I think most people that get EMA that I know only get £10 because their parents only just earn below the £30,000 mark.

Dave
Qualifications mean very, very little. I have two GCSEs and less than four years after leaving school I'm earning £40k a year give or take a few hundred quid. Get working, it'll be worth it. TheScorpion
work your way up, start a buisness like your dads, buy his company when he retires, and you will soon be a billionare Somehow I don't really see the billionaire mark being reached, let's be realistic here I suggest you take the job with your Dad, get some dosh in your pockets and then think about working your way up from there. It may take a while, or not, but either way it's your life we're talking about here. You make the choices.

Eddie280
Dont just work for your dad because its easy. Go get a job somwhere on your own merit. Not because your the bosses son. Or else people will only think your there because of your dad.
GM Dude
If I can start making a decent income and stuff, I'll be able to drop out early, I hope. The two potential memberships I'm looking at, have been reviewed, and found to be of good quality, and both are members of customer service orgs. I'll post them on my sig later.
