I thought he was dead by now nervous.gif

Just kiddin biggrin.gif Stallone is one of the greatest action heroes of 20th century, and he can still make a lot of great movies. Ive seen every Stallone movie there is, so I probably wont miss this one either

I wonder whats next. There was Rocky and Rambo, who knows, maybe Rambo again

I wouldn't be surprised. I've got the Rambo trilogy on DVD and it's an 18. This one looks even bloodier than normal.

How the hell has this passed as an R? I mean, dude... that was graphic. Every single person in that clip who was shot either lost a head, an arm or they exploded.

It's America. Who cares about brutal violence. As long as there's no sex/pr0n/etc.

GTA3Freak-2001

Now that was awesome, Sly still kicks arse and looks the part. And what about that gore and blood, its about time action films got back to their violent selves. Although I am now worried about if the OFLC will even grant this movie an R rating since from what I've heard they were surprised it got the R rating in the US.

After coming from the press screening last night, i had to sit down and think about what i had just seen. This is without a doubt one of the most violent movies i ever saw! And it by far the worst Stallone movie i ever saw.

Visually, this is not a bad movie. The plot is okay, the story is told good and the tempo is good. However There is a couple of obvious reasons why i think this movie sucked.

Its pure lazyness, we get to see the same old story told over again. And the fact that this movie exploits one of the worlds most tragic stories doesn't help. The movie starts off with some documentary kinda clips from Burma, showing how brutal the Burmese army is towards the people, i guess this is to make everything Rambo does to them in the next 80 minutes well deserved.

We get the same old patriotic bullcrap we saw 20 years ago when John visited Afghanistan to help those poooor guys we today know as Taliban fight the evil russians. He now lives in Thailand, living the life of a Vietnam Vet, capturing snakes and fishing for the poor people with his bow and arrow. Until he gets a visit from a bunch of American missionaries and aid workers. Rambo brings them by boat into Burma, and weeks later he learns they have been captured by Burmese forces. This sparks the patriotism in good old Sly, and he aggrees to come along. He takes off with a few soldiers to fight off the Burmese army.

From that point on you do NOT have to wait long for the long awaited bloodshed to start. Legs and arms are blown off, heads explode, brain matter colours the dirt, stomachs are opened up and guts fly around. By far the most visually violent of the Rambo's.

And JUST as you think you've seen the most violent sh*t ever. Director Stallone serves you a closeup of a young boy getting a bayonet in the gut. followed suit by a baby being torn from it's mothers arms and getting chucked into a burning hut. And there is still ONE hour left of the movie, enough to assure you that the Burmese army will NEVER EVER taunt the Rambo ever again!

I really hoped this would be a worthy end to the Rambo series, but i guess there is no changing a true American hero.

Im sure this has good entertainment value to many of you, but i've seen what Stallone CAN do, and by my opinion he failed this time..

But im still downloading buying it sigh.gif

Well, didnt expect that. Some mixed feelings there. Not something I wanted to hear, but to round it off, im guessing most of it/gore just was not needed?

I cant believe we have to wait an extra month to get it!

Go see it! For f*cks sake! its the last Rambo, its not the best movie storywise. But then again was the other Rambo's?

im not the big splatter fan, but i have to admit the violence blew me away. They could've left out half of the blood, but IS a Rambo movie, and it just HAD to end with a bang..

Wow.

Just saw it today. Probably the best f*cking action flick I've ever seen. And the goriest.

I don't know what maddog's talking about in regards to patriotism - there was none of the typical blustery sh*t one expects from an American-saves-the-day type shoot 'em up. It was fast, intense, frightening, and well over the top. I mean, seriously, Rambo tears out a man's throat. With his bare hand.

So the caveat is, obviously, that there's not much to this movie besides edge of your seat intensity and a cold look at human brutality. And that's OK. There's no cheesey overdressing like jet-fighter surfboards or a wall of the dead ala 300, and aside from a few points (the staring contest at the end) there's no drama being forcefed to you. It is hard to sit through some of the violence, proving that I do still have some semblance of a soul. But let's face it - this is war porn at it's best.

Ok...

That was without a doubt the most epic and awesome film I have ever seen in terms of sheer brutality, violence and gore. I cannot begin to describe how much I actually enjoyed this movie having not been a major Rambo fan in the past. This movie is not just another dumb old action flick, it is a very intelligent film which shows us the evil that actually happens around the world, crimes against humanity in a nutshell. Fuse this with ultra violence, kickass characters and enemies who you come to loathe, especially that General prick who Sly disembowls and you have yourself one awesome flick.

The violence in Rambo IV has to be seen to be beleived, I thought I had seen everything until I saw good ol' John rip out a guys throat with his f*ckin bare hand!. The film shows us what high powered weapons such as sniper rifles and mounted guns can really do to the human body...and that is f*ckin annihilate it behind all beleive. I must have shouted "Holy sh*t!" at least 10 times throughout the hour and a half. Definitley one of the best films I have seen in a long time and definitley one of the greatest action movies ever made. Also, the ending has some of the most epic and hairstanding music, what a way to end the series.

I recommend this to everyone.

10/10. cool.gif

It was a good movie.

It was very graphic, which showed the audience what is happening now, and we don't know about it.
