yea, modeled unwrapped and textured by me. the UVs were rushed, which is why the texture looks like butt in some places. the triangle count is a little high too.

 

i'll mess with the scale and brightness

Yeah, its nicely detailed. you could actually make a decent chrome refmapped version thanks to the detail of the model.

actually i'm having an issue with the world spawn i think.

 

i am testing the wep on two saves, one relatively new that i made and another i downloaded at 100%

 

the famas loads fine in the early save, it's cj's currently equiped weapon and it spawns properly in los santos locations. not available at ammunation yet.

 

however, i haven't been able to test it in the 100% game because the gun store crashes, as well as CJ's house. i haven't tested world spawn locations yet.

 

 

is it possible that the 100% game is just corrupted or something?

 

i might need someone to test it for me.

awesome, I've been waiting for a top notch quality famas for awhile. So far it looks great, and usually mods that come out of nowhere fail right away, but this does not fit that at all. So I imagine you will have an altered weapon.dat file, so it is much faster? will you make it better than the m4? (it's gotta be lol)

Sounds unlikely. If the weapon shows up nicely and can be used on the new save, it should work on the 100% save as well. Try replacing it with any other weapon first. If the problem persists, it's more likely that the 100% save is corrupt.

the weapon data is relatively easy to configure for yourself, so i most likely won't touch it :3 i especially don't like messing with weapon data because it can mean i am more easily killed as well as others D:

excellent! yeah, I see your point on messing with the weapon.dat. I have Grim's weapon pack v3 in, and I think I see why I die a lot more now. I kinda figured out a way to bypass it now: just modify the amount of health cj has in pedstats.dat. proportional to what his bullet tolerance should be with the regular weapon.dat file. HM, but what about the non-moded guns, it'll be unrealistic to take so littel damage from them..well, as long as things are figured out. (so I get the numbers right, this is a FAMAS F1, right? cuz I think the G2 is different for the rate of fire. correct me if I'm wrong. (I'm quite sure it's an F1))

 

edit: btw, does everyone else's pedstats.dat file look all out of place, with lines moved too far? (starting at: STAT_BEACH_GUY )

yea, it's the F1. i don't know for sure, there could be small discrepancies =_=

 

 

tonight i should have a compile ready for everyone, which i will post here for download. i'm looking forward to hearing from everyone. hoping it works well smile.gif

I'm quite sure it is the F1. no real doubt now that I researched it a bit more. I can't wait for the release! Will this be considered a beta? I read some comments on it being too big or something? unless you fixed the proposed mistakes.

Uh, I'm pretty sure my avatar says it all....lol wink.gif . It crashed my saved game, so I'll try making a new one. I'm sure it's not made of fail.

 

edit: F**k....it crashed that one too. Maybe I'll put in the original scripts. Because I'm using spaceEinstein V3.

I can test it out for you, just so you know it's not your system or any other mod crashing the game...

a second computer would be better

Yep, I put in the original script files, and when I got near the spawning point, it crashed like a bunghole. I don't get, is there something put together wrong in the gun? I'm sure a senior gun modder can check your gun out to see what's wrong. But you could probably do it. icon14.gif

I'm not sure if it's your game version. I've been modding my game for a long time with all sorts of mods, from guns, vehicles, clothes, scripts, etc. And by that I'm sure it's Version 1.0....wait, can version 1.01 be fitted with such mods that I described? Or is it version 2 that can't except mods? (both). If so, then it is possible that I have the same version as you, and that that is the problem. But regardless, guns shouldn't effect my game if they are made correctly. So yeah, pretty sure it's not the version (but how do I check anyway?) colgate.gif

sorry, but i'm at a loss. the version is the only possible reason for the crashing that i can come up with. either someone else compiles for me, or i find a copy of v1, which is looking less and less likely

hm, I've put so many guns in my game, and this has never happened to me before. I wonder what my version is.
