C.ompton
Check it out. It's at the 1:33 second mark of the trailer when we see the warehouse behind the burned cars. It is at the left-hand side of the screen and you can see it hanging from the belt of a security gaurd. just before it cuts to the next shot. Take it frame by frame, and it is noticeable, and, I think, distinguishable as a flashlight, but I'm sure it will be disputed. Can someone please put a pic of what I am describing in this topic, so others don't have to look at the actual trailer? I would, but am not that tech-savy. Thanks. What do you think? How will it be used? Do you think we can use it? I wrote some ideas about the use of FLASHLIGHTS on the first page of my BLACKOUT topic, which everyone thought was a good idea and hoped to see, at least as close to concensus as you will find on these forums. If you want checkout that topic, it can be found here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=297644 Holy Fuk ! Nice find man. Good eyes. I also saw a baton hanging
Kelao
Can you link me to that screenshot of Niko with the duffelbag and rifle please, or just post it please? Thanks in advance. Eljan81
I don't know if it was in your post before, but I commented sometime ago, that a flashlight can be used to break car windows just as easily as a crow bar. Adding to that ability being able to transport light around and break and enter would be cool. Hopefully they've/ R* thought about it tool. I just thought about how it could be used in a fire-fight. Remember in SA when the police chopper would blind you with a light? It could be used in the same way by police on the ground, making it harder to see your target. Hopefully they program the game to give us the same advantage if we shine it into someones eyes, so there accuracy decreases when they are blinded. That's, of course, if we are able to use it at all. But I think if we see electricity play a role in GTA, then we will see us being able to use a flashlight.
mufc
How is that little tiny thing a torch? :S lol, what a picture. That guy is posing hardcore. OK makes sence now, but may be the skin. It's perfectly verticle.... Well, if you look at the image, the flashlight is attached to his duty belt. When he's not using the torch, it hangs down. Ye, I know. I don't see major use of it, except for what I said before. I do. You've of course seen the screenshot of Niko with duffelbag and a rifle, standing in front of a blown off bank-door. Now imagine that Niko has to sneak in there, at night, with security guards patrolling. Security guards don't have night vision eyes and they're not exactly Riddick either. To be honest, I wouldn't be surpriced if only guards use these torches. what? do you live in Mid-evil times? dude it's called a flashlight, not a torch! lol You should just call all the cars horses and the weapons swords. you say tomato he says potato, it a country thing

Yes, if you follow the link, and then follow the link where I originally posted this idea, you will see it was on June 25/26 that this idea was borne. If R* noticed it, it might take them an additional 6-months to implement it into the game. I actually hope them putting it in was the reason for the delay, because that would mean it will be in the game. Just a fancifull thought. Also, thanks for the compliment about my idea. Ph3L1z14n0
Sounds really cool, specially since i've been really obsessed with Half-Life 2 and the flashlight feature. If it was to be adapted to IV, it would make a fantastic addition Nice topic
doomdiver_16
It would be a nice touch to have them in but not exactly necisary. Only time I realy want to see em is if they can be attached to weapons. Edited January 20, 2008 by doomdiver_16
Flexo Slim
Is a flashlight really that significant to so many people in the community? Plus it's only on the cop model totally useless find.....
gamefarter
Is a flashlight really that significant to so many people in the community? Plus it's only on the cop model totally useless find..... Gee, thanks. I hope you have to eat those words when your using a flashlight in the game to see, in an otherwise pitch-black area. I was also thinking that we could dual-wield the flashlight with a handgun, grenade, molitov, or any other one-handed weapons. For the aiming system they could put the center of the light at the weapons target-center. Probably the only way this would work, given the controller config.
