Jobbie Posted January 16, 2008 Share Posted January 16, 2008 The one thing that I think would be intersting and fun would be some sort of cheat that started a Zombie infection mode. Like some peds get infected and try and infect you and other peds. It would be really cool in like a really busy subway where you see the zombies come down from the street above and start infecting the peds, everyone starts running and its like pandamonium(cant spell). You get on one of the trains and you see people being eat from the windows and zombies trying to smash the windows to get you as the train moves off. However some zombies got on the train and with no escape you get caught, now you are a zombie and can eat the fook out of some grannies!!!! If anyone has played the zombie mode for counter strike: source it would be similar to that. biggrin.gif I know that it is far out and there is little chance of it but I thought i would see what you guys thought. Just play Dead Rising if you want Zombies chasing after you. I happen to think Dead Rising sucks. So, there's that problem. In fact, if this zombie mode where actually included it would offer several advantages over Dead Rising. 1. It's truly open ended 2. You can pilot vehicles 3. What does turning peds into zombies have to do with beating a game faster? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lets not even call this a "cheat" for starters, guys. It implies that youre making things easier on you. Whats so easy about having the entire city of LC infested by zombies, all roaming around looking for fresh man flesh? Peds go on with their merry lives and are rarely bothering you. In what way does turning them into the complete opposite of that easier? A ped might as well be a zombie anyways. Zombies are basically the perfect video game enemy. Always after you, and theres no remorse for killing them. Do you feel remorse over peds when you run them over 30 at a time? sh*t no, and the same goes with zombies. Its just this time instead of them walking by you with theyre always in pursuit. Never stoping. Always hungry. Zombies are amongst us, people. Be prepared to take action. But, for the sake of convenience why not just improve the "Peds hate you" cheat? Mobs of people gunning for you, an American Black Hawk Down where it's just you and your wits against a hostile city. Where every street must be passed with caution and every apartment block has weirdos who'll hunt you down like a dog. That would be acceptable if no zombie mode is present. But to work it must have the possibility of Niko being chased by a pretty large number of people. Otherwise it will be like before when you never got a real sense of fear. I used to turn on the evil cars cheat in Saint's Row, and then try to make it from A to B without dying, which (in a lot of ways) was more fun than the actual game. hearing revving engines in the distance... sneaking along the beach to evade them when all of a sudden a psycho car bursts out of the foliage full speed... then I'd kill the "brain" by shooting the driver. good times. i only lament the fact they didn't have a true zombie mode. zombie mode would f*cking own. And before I start, may I remind others whom say "oh just play dead rising 4 zombies" let me point out some glaringly obvious points. 1) Dead Rising was set in a confined shopping centre, not an open ended city like this. 2) Dead Rising focussed on using melee weapons. 3) Dead Rising was fun but there was no true sandbox mode. Infinite Mode does not count, it's just annoying that your health goes down constantly so you've got to find food to eat. Why didn't they just call it "Survivor Mode"? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Dead Rising, but it isn't GTA. Think of it, if you don't like cheats, why not have them as bonus unlockables after beating the game or a certain mission. Ergo it would not meld into the main storyline and all those "Perfectionists" who think that just because that because they don't use cheats no-one should, couldn't really complain as it would be a seperate game mode which would be completely optional. Further imagine, you get certain zombie modes, Romanero Zombies (Romero Zombies): Those classic shambling corpses just asking to be glock'd. 672 Hours Afterwards Mode: These zombies are fast customers and are relentless! stronger than the Romanero Zombies but not as camply funny. "I Is quite a Legendary Person, me" Mode In daylight, Libertys streets are deserted- by night, prepare for hunt or be hunted. heh heh heh. Clearly the topic starter mentioned this as an optional cheat to have fun with outside of the game reality. It would not be considered part of GTAIV, just a fun extra. I loved the 'Theme' cheats in San Andreas where one button cheat would effect the weather, time, traffic, pedestrians, what weapons they carried and even the costume the protagonist is wearing. It made it alot of fun for me to suddenly have a whole different look and feel to the place. People shouldn't really say "if you want that then go play "generic genre game". We don't want that game. We want GTA. One of the great things about GTA is that it takes many things used in other games and incorporates them into its own unique world. It's the world that we love. We just think it would be cool to add some addition fun things to extend the gameplay further. As I said I had some good times with the theme cheat in SA. I also used to use AR Max to remove all the other peds and traffic from GTA3. Not only was this good for taking screen shots and movies, but it give us an opportunity to see the city we've come to know in a different light. I think they missed the best time to do a zombie cheat in VCS. They already had everything in-game to achieve that. I'd like the following: Riot theme - Everyone goes crazy looting, burning, attacking. Zombie theme - a bit like the riot theme but it's night with a fog in the air. Zombie peds try to eat our brains. Season themes - if they have seasons in-game then we should be able to activate these with cheats too. Instant snow day with peds wrapped in warm clothes, building snowmen, christmas decorations and snow ploughs. Water level cheat - raise or lower the water level. Would be even better if a "freeze water cheat" was also available". But getting back to the Zombie cheat. It's always great to see things we are familiar with in a slightly twisted way and a lone man facing a never ending stream of zombie attackers coming at him takes us back to the basics of video games. To the post above me - Oh i see what you mean, i thought he meant that zombies are just in the game normally. But if it isn't considered canon (i.e. Not part of the storyline, just a fun optional side mode to play) then who cares? fun for all! So obviously you want a zombie game where there is a big city and the zombies infect like the whole city and there is just you and a few others that got to do things. Pretty much. But... GTA's gameplay+huge roamable area that is a nod to one of the most famous and recognisable cities in the world+R* Humour=Great fun.
